So I was on TTG in the Graphics Section and out of nowhere CMD popped up and said something and then it disappeared. (I could not read it it came up and left to fast). A moment later CMD popped up again and it said
"Files copied 0
Files copying 1
Files copying 2
Files copied 1
Files copied 2"

Then it disappeared. A few seconds later I had a Icon on the bottom of my screen and when I went to bring it up I could not open it. I was able to see that it said "hp support assistant" and then a minute later the icon disappeared.

Does anyone know what might have happened?

EDIT: I have windows 8.1 HP laptop. (64bit)

Also I can not right click on the Start button and when I go to the right to the search bar it does not open up.

To be perfectly honest I'm not sure what could have happened. Not to alarm you, but a quick virus scan wouldn't hurt, and a virus is always a possibility worth checking in my opinion. You might as well run one.

I'd also like to mention that I have relatives that own HP products, and their HP advisor/HP support assistant (ect) is pointless bloatware which I uninstalled for them. Their computers run much better without them. You may want to consider removing them in add/remove programs.

Hope you solve the issue.

Ok, Do you think I should go to a later restore point too?

I'm not really the right person to ask, i'm sure there'll be someone with more knowledge in this area to help you. But I do know that going to restore points can be bad if you have a virus (it doesn't affect it). My only reasonable suggestion is to run a scan and see if it detects anything.

That sounds like some program just executed a script to copy files, obviously as stated by what it said it was doing. Perhaps a program was auto-updating? I really wouldn't worry about it, but as said above, run a virus scan if you feel the need to.
