What's strange is that my charger stopped working today also, I have just ordered a new charger off ebay.

It could be either a problem with your charger, or the charging input in your phone... The cheapest solution would be to go to the store and buy a new charger if you don't have a second one.
If that doesn't work, I would take it to the apple store and they will be the ones who will have to repair the charging input on the phone, or they will give you a new one.
If you don't have apple care warranty on your phone, and its the input that is broken, you might be out of luck and have to buy a new phone. Apple will only replace your phone for a charge of around 30-40$ if you have apple care on your plan.

No, Apple started replacing them for free this year. Welcome to 2014
