So I'll be applying for jobs soon. I am 16 and wondering if anyone has any tips. I'm a pretty confident guy, and don't have a issue speaking to people, also I have my own resume made, even though I'll be applying for a place like Burger King, marshals, ect. Besides that does anyone have any tips? Thanks!

Heres a great tip: DO NOT WORK AT A FOOD PLACE. Everyday you smell like crap, greasy, and the job itself usually is just cleaning and making food. Perhaps get something that isnt in the food industry! Also just be cool, and wear nice clothes when you go to the interview. Goodluck!

At my age I'm not too picky, I don't mind a food place, I'll need to pay for my car insurance.

I'm 17 and you should probably be somewhat picky. Or if you do work at a food place, perhaps look elsewhere? Here lifeguards get paid $10 a hour, while I'm over here making $7.25 and working x4 harder.

I agree with the food thing, I'm 17 and wish I would have chosen something different, but if it's all you have than go to a place where they are always looking for people, those are the easiest.

I'll be lifeguard certified for next summer. I'm pretty limited as there's a shopping center within walking distance, I'd like to work in a place there.

Try to think about each question carefully.

Ask your parents to overlook it whit you while your taking it.

Just be prepared for the questions with an answer that would best suit the company, they love team players and good attendance. Try to emulate that when answering questions. And of course try to be their fifteen minutes early, you will be surprised how often the appointment in front/behind you in late of a no show. Follow up calls are very important because they don't know if you've been hired some where else. Good luck.
