Probably a dumb question but all I have is $100. Also is it the ghz part or the ram that makes a PC fast? (boot up and opening apps on it)

For 100 bucks, you wont get anything more than a Pentium processor and 2gbs of RAM. Which equals to 3 hamsters running on a wheel. Both the RAM and ghz accounts for how fast it is. Youll need at least 300 for a very low end computer (thats worth it, that is).

Ok can you recommend me a desktop PC that is powerful (fast boot up, opening up applications and the internet, load times) and that is under 300. Preferably comes with a monitor? Also any anti virus program you recommend?

I'm not even sure you'll have luck finding one with a monitor, as the monitor would more than likely be a large chunk of the $300.

I'd just suggest saving your money so you can actually afford a decent computer.

If you want to do gaming on it no. Honestly just wait intil you have like 500 dollars if you want a full build with monitor even if it means waiting 6 months for birthday or something.

Seriously though. $100 literally won't get you anything. Save up until you have at least $600.
