It really is just ease of access. The title of iOS 8 does it to much justice. It is more of a redone iOS 7. Things that should have been in the last version. There are something that are very different. Currently there are no updates on when the rest of the "kits" will be coming out. The Health kit appeared in the first version of the beta. They talked about the Home kit that will allow you to control your everyday household items with your phone. So, other than the addition of the kits the whole structure of the iOS hasn't changed much.

You can't expect a whole redesign every time Apple want to update their iOS

I don't think you understand Apple very well. They change the looks of things only when they want and when it's necessary, and since it's only been a year after the last major UI over haul they focused 100% on developers this year. There are so many great features they added for the devs this year, you won't notice anything but sooner or later apps will have many more features and you'll get more connected to everyday things.

Another failed attempt to patch the Jailbreak.
Adding more things that are completely pointless and should of had on all phones in the first place.

Plus!
Its another failing attempt to money hoard everyone with an iPhone 4, like me, to buy a newer generation phone just to get this crap update called "iOS 8"

I am never going to sell my jailbroken 4 for some update that adds nothing cool.

Point is, there is no point of iOS8 except another failing JB patch, and nothing useful.
