At first my pc worked with my graphic card, about 5 days later, it crashed and wouldnt boot. I decided to build it again only this time, i didnt plug in the graphics card and it booted no problem.

I assume its my PSU but i dont want to upgrade it without being sure.

My graphics card is a Sapphire r9 270x and my psu is a 450W Xfx core edition.

Thank you!

Are you sure the connectors are correctly plugged in?

It may be the gpu and not the power supply I'd suggest contacting the manufacturers.

Clear your CMOS and make sure the card is connected correctly.

Is the fan (or are the fans) spinning? Did you install other graphics drivers previously that would cause a conflict? Do you have the monitor plugged into the graphics card with the correct input selected?

No fans, nothing at all. But, the GPU has 2 6 pin ports, if i put the connector into the one on the right, it boots, if theres one in the left, it doesnt

You need to use the Molex to 6-pin PCI adapter that came with the card. The XFX 450w only has one 6-pin PCI power connector although it has plenty of power for a card with more than one connector.

Sounds like the card and/or the PSU is faulty, XFX PSU's aren't greatly credited so i'd suggest getting a Corsair RM650 or something with a bit more power to it but a decent brand, I personally have the OCZ ZS Series 750Watt for my rig, what are your full system specs out of interest?
