As a youtuber, there is POTENTIAL to make a lot of money and be very very successful. I had potential in all caps because thousands of people try in gaming and only a select few have huge success. Not you could still make enough money to offset fixed and variable costs as a decent YTer assuming you don't need to handle the cost of living. Now as a pro competitive gamer, it is a lot lot harder. You need a really good time, first and foremost. You need to be one of the 1% in terms of skill andknowledge of the game, and you have to have unreal chemistry with the people you're playing with. All these factors make it so so tough to be a successful competitive player. You can certainly get good, but i would try for YT first.

Dont go wasting all your money on a pvr and a new laptop because my friend did the same and wasted all his money because he never go noticed, people who watch you tube want to watch the favourate youtubers so i wouldnt go splashing the cash all at once. you should see how you go at first with a cheap recording equiptment then go to something better if you start getting loads of vies then graduate form there

Danule1666 wrote I'm 15 from the UK, I play the Xbox 360 a lot!
I play Competitive Cod, but I could be a Trickshotter aswell if I put my mind to it.
Please any feed back would be helpful!

Play anything besides COD? Most other games are a lot better to watch such as fallout, skyrim, wolfenstein, GTA, battlefield, and a huge list of XBLA games. Don't think you can make a career just because you might get a cool kill ever once in a while on a game that's recorded by everyone

If you do end up getting into it, get known by being hilarious. Watching someone play is boring as learning about plant cells going through mitosis, but having a funny commentator can make videos a lot better to watch. I go to the video just to laugh at what the commentator says, I don't really watch it for the gameplay. Also try and find semi-popular youtubers that might do a game with you or something like that.

You're 15 too, still in highschool (or is it primary school in the UK?) so i'd take some classes on plays mainly for the script writing as you should be writing scripts with your videos. It will make them a lot better as long as you sound like you're just talking and not reading a script. A little mixture of a script and improvising is great, just like good TV shows.

Good luck with which ever choice you decide

oh a big thing I forgot, video editing. Take classes like audio/visual production, graphic design, film production, ect. Learn the programs to edit, unedited videos are VERY crappy.

It's a huge gamble and i would personally recommend against it. The 'market' is absolutely saturated and many upcoming players are simply not taken seriously these days. I would personally recommend you to save your money for something when you get older, such as a car or college and focus on academics or something along those lines whilst playing games as a simple hobby

That's just my take on the matter.

If you haven't already got a decent channel with lots of active subscribers i honestly wouldn't waste your time. It could take years before you get any recognition, and even then it probly wouldn't be much. There are thousands of people in your position right now wanting to start a gaming career, unless you can bring something different to the table i wouldn't bother

(honest opinion sorry if it ruins your dreams)

I love Gaming, but it's my mum. As all parents do, they want you to do something with your life rather than sit on Xbox. That's why I want to show her that having a Gaming Career and a Small Job that I enjoy as well as Gaming can stack up a decent amount of money.

however it really depends on how much of a character you are. You could be the worst damn player in the world but if you entertain, you can be successful. Just think, KSI started out terrible at fifa and now he has 5+mil subs and I can guarantee half the players here could beat him...

If you can entertain you can be successful
