How To Flash A KV

Well Due to the release of Free Online Files I keep seeing people posting that they have had a bad flash or people posting that they need help when doing it, That is why I have decided to write this tutorial. I will try and be as detailed as possible

**IF YOU MAKE AN ERROR I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE**

Requirments

JTAG/RGH
Unbanned KV (Type 1 or 2 Dependong On Your Console) KV converter From Wilez- Archives/t=5111707/wilez-kv-conve...lease.html
Flash360 Tool -
Flash360 Homebrew For Your JTAG (Cant suplly download due to it having a .xex)
Knowledge/Patience

Step 1
Firstly you need to put Flash360 on your JTAG using a USB. You can use FTP but personally i use USB as it means you can easily get the files that you need from your Xbox Once Its Done. So what you do is put the Flash360 Files NOT the tool just the files onto a USB and plug it into your JTAG. then you open up XeX Menu (Tutorial in one of the stickies on how to install it) and navigate to your USB. There should be a folder Called Flash360. If so you have done step 1 Correctley.

Step 2
Secondly we need to get the flashdmp.bin. So once you have navigated to your USB and found the Flash360 Program you need to open it up. Then you press "X" on your Xbox Controller to Save current NAND to File and then press "A" on your Controller to save current NAND to file. It will then start writing your NAND to the file. Depending on how big your internal Memory is on your Xbox (E.G 516 MB, 16 MB) this could take a while to do. Once it says "Press any key to return" press any Key. then press "Back" to return and then "Back" to exit application. you then want to load up XeX Menu and once again Navigate Over to your USB. Then open the Flash360 Folder and you said see a file called "flashdmp.bin" If so you have done Step 2 Right.

Step 3
Thirdly we need to get the file onto the PC and Flash The KV. So unplug your USB from your JTAG and plug it into your PC. This next bit could get a bit confusing so i will try and make it as simple as possible. Go onto your USB and get the flashdmp.bin off and put it somewhere where you can find it (Recommend the desktop). Whilst your here you should DEFINITELY make a backup of this file before we change anything as if you do a Bad Flash this is the file that could save you. Now that you have done that open up Flash360 Tool and click on settings and go to Keys. Then you need tho Check the "CPU Key" Box and paste in your CPU Key (You can get this from Xell or it may have come with your console). Then proceed to click Ok. Now, click on open File and open the "Flashdmp.bin" file that you got off your USB (Not the backup version the one you extracted to Desktop). It shoul then display the correct information of your console on the right hand side of your screen. Here you can Check if your KV is tpe 1 or type 2. This is important make sure you know what Type your console takes. Mosft consoles (Except Most Xenons) take Type 2 KVs. Next click "Import" then check the KV box and browse for your new unbanned KV, THEN YOU CAN CLICK oK. It will now open a dialog that will allow you to save the file. Name the file "updflash.bin" and save it to your Desktop. Then click "Open File" and open the updflash.bin file that you just saved to your Desktop. You shou;d see the info on the right has changed. tjis is perfectley normal. The next thing you need to do is click the "Patch button" then scroll down until you see "Patch Key Vault". Check that box and it shoudl now allow you to edot the DVD Region, DVD Key and OSIG. Fill out this Info to match your JTAG. The region is country it was manufactured in, The OSIG is your DVD Drive Type (Can be found on the label on your consoles DVD Drive) and the DVD Key can be Fouynd in Xell. If you fill out this info wrong your DVD Drive will not work. Then click "Ok". Another dialog box will open to save the file and save it once again as "updflash.bin" and save it onto your USB.

Step 4
Now we need to Flash the new file back onto your Console. This step is very important so make sure you read this bit carefully. Firstly you need to go onto your USB and delete the Flashdmp.bin file that we put on there at the beggininnig (Keep the Backup one though). Then we need to make sure we have the updflash.bin file on your USB. if all this is right unplug your USB and plug it into your JTAG. You then need to open up Flash360 again. Then press the button "A" On your console and then press "B". You may get 2 Warnings but everything is ok just press "Start" to continue, and then finidh of by pressing "A" to start. the file will now proceed to flash. Again depending on the size of your console this could take a while. This step is important, if you dont read CAREFULLY you could mess up. Once this has finished press "Any button to continue", "Back" to return to main menu "back" to shitdown. Once it has shutdown Quickly unplug all power cables from your JTAG (If you dont your console will mess up). Unplug it for around 30-45 Seconds. Then plug it back in and turn your cxonsole on. If you had a succesful Flash your console should boot up like normal. If your console does not boot up please read one of the tutorials Below.

Console Wont Boot?

If your console wont Boot you have either Flashed a Type 1 KV to a type 2 Nand (Vice Versa) or you have messed up on following the tutorial somewhere.

The first thing you need to do is power of the console. now you need to go back on your PC and take everything off your USB. you are then gonna get the backup file that we created earlier "flashdmp.bin" and place that on The USB with NOTHING else not even Flash360 Folder. Then plug it int your Xbox. Next you need to press the DVD Eject Button and the cponsole should just boot straight into Xell. It spuld then read the "flashdmp.bin" file from your USB and write it to your NAND. Your console will now be back to normal bit you will Have to redo this tutorial.
