Hi, I am currently looking for a new monitor. I have been looking at 120hz, 144hz, IPS, E-IPS.. there are just so many to choose from so I am not sure which one I want.

My budget is around 250 pound. I primarily use the monitor for gaming; Counter Strike, DayZ etc.

Thanks

If you primarily want 120Hz + then I'd get this...

but if it's just image quality you want, get this.

I have used this monitor, and have to say it is one of the best things i have ever used.

But the choice is yours. But I'd advise the second link as it is still a decent gaming panel, just isn't as fast.

That's the problem I don't really know which I want! I am running a 780 so the 120/144hz is fine, but I am sure if im too fussed on the graphics so I may get the 120/144hz.

The only problem with the BenQ you listed is that some come with v1 firmware and some come with v2 firmware and the companies dont seem to know which they're selling!

Also been looking at this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The only issue is that obviously the picture quality wont be good.

I should also say that I am currently using 2x Asus VE248H.

I believe OCuK sell the v2 firmware models, but i cannot say for sure.

That Asus one looks just as good if not better, so go with that, if you're not to fussed about colors and things like that, go with the 144Hz, nothing beats a bit of 144hz gaming lol.

3D is an added bonus too.

Start reading and decide what you want. And since you wouldn't listen when I was talking about triple-buffering + Vsync in the Shoutbox, read this, too.

If you were any good at CS rut, you'd know that triple buffering is terrible for a flick shooter such as Global Offensive. I've tried every edge of the spectrum (even a friends lightboosted 144Hz), and I can say that triple buffering + vsync is not as responsive as uncapped fps and a 144Hz monitor.

Yes, you can see the difference, and yes, a 120-144 hz monitor is definitely worth it.
