And BlackShades has been out for years and i guess people have found the remote administration tool in order to find it. and i don't really RAT but i find it interesting.

My thoughts are split about this whole investigation. In one sense, I feel it's a complete waste of tax money as most of these skids who use blackshades don't do much harm with it, only gathering a couple of bots and whatnot. In another sense, it could be worth it for the money they're spending to carry out these investigations, think of the people who are actually large scale hackers holding tens of thousands of bots and are doing lots of harm to the slaves.

One of my friends got a visit from the police for simply purchasing the RAT, he had no slaves at all, but all of his PCs and such were taken away for further investigation.

To be fair, I'm surprised this never took place earlier. The co-(owner) of blackshades was arrested in 2012 as part of the huge carders investigation and they should have found something relating to blackshades then..

What are you talking about? Blackshades never had anything that would make it 'easier to hack' somebody than any other ordinary RAT.
