The 6-pin will need to come from your power supply not the motherboard. I believe most 550TI's use a single PCIe power connector so you could run it off of a CX430 should you need a new power supply. But then again, if you're buying that 550Ti now, its not a good choice.

No I've had the 550 for a while, my current psu doesn't have a 6 pin so should I look at buying a cx430 or cx500?

CX430 as it must be pretty crappy PSU not to have a PCIe connector so its a good investment. If you're in the US then Newegg have the CX500 with MIR for like $29 which is a good price.

It's probably cheaper when you add it all up to just sell your GTX550Ti and get one better card.

Any recommendations for a decent GPU, around 200?

GBP, sorry I thought I put the sign, that looks like a good card. Will it run all the latest games?

Ah as you're in the UK for a single card you'll get away with the Corsair CX430 or the XFX 450w. The latter one is my preference because its better and is sleeved very nicely.

If you need to include the price of the PSU into the 200 quid budget then you can easily grab a GTX760 if you look around for one on offer, and if not the AMD R9 270X will be priced well usually with BF4 free with it.

If you look on this offer page: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , you can get a R9 280X for around 208 pounds before shipping, and that performs similarly to the GTX770 but less so i'd say its well worth the extra.
