Can you provide a list of your current PC specs that you have picked out? That'll help tremendously with getting you the proper card to match up with the parts.

Thanks. 750W power supply would be overkill, but can be good if you're planning on upgrading in the future, or are planning on adding a second GPU. Liquid cooling is also overkill unless you're planning on doing SERIOUS overclocking.

As for GPUs, Nvidia GTX 760(2GB or 4GB), AMD R9 280X (3GB) or GTX 770(2GB or 4GB) would be great.

i do plan on upgrading in the future but as far as the liquid cooling goes im still on the border with it.

but thanks for your help i think im going with the r9 it just seems like more bang for the buck.

Some things I forgot to mention;

Nvidia cards I listed come with the ability to record and stream to twitch with ShadowPlay. It's basically fraps but with no performance impact. The drivers are incredibly easy to install as well. Something I don't have experience with, but have heard complaints about is the difficulty of downloading and installing AMD drivers. Just some things to think about.

But yes, typically AMD cards are more bang-for-the-buck cards.

well im not really going to be recording/streaming i use to do that but its just too much work for me now lol
but the comparison of the 770 and 280x are give and take between them ill just have to do ssome research on all of those you listed and choose the cost effective one

Since you haven't given a specific budget for the card, refer to this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

It's almost always spot-on. You'd also be fine with a quality 550w PSU; 750w is overkill. I'd also suggest an air cooler instead of the H60 for better performance for what you're paying.

AMD drivers for Windows are just fine and easy to install. Download the executable, run it, click through the prompts.

The 7870 is an old card so I wouldn't recommend it, you'd be better going with the Radeon R9 series or GTX 7** series of GPU's because they are newer. The GTX 770 is the greatest of the cards mentioned so far and would be your best choice if you can afford it. A 750W PSU is not needed, and probably won't be needed in the future. A 550W PSU is more than enough for your build. Although the AMD FX series of CPU are cheap and great for their price, I wouldn't recommend buying one. The FX series of CPU's are dead. You'd be much better going with the intel equivalent CPU. Also, liquid cooling isn't a great idea. Their is no need for it now-a-days. Air cooling is just as good and is safer.

I know they used to be awful, so I guess they improved? That's good to hear.
