I am looking at getting a new xbox so that I can RGH it, not sure which motherboard to go with and which RGH method to go with either. If someone could explain the benefits or drawbacks of each, in noob ish talk, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was thinking of a Jasper like the one I currently have because I have had no issues with it, however they are a bit dear for my liking. I won't be using it for online use much, mainly just playing games via emulators, without a disc, mods and other stuff. Just not sure what to go with here.

Jasper = Very rarely gets RRoD, around same chance as a slim.
Falcon = Slight increase of getting RRoD.
But if you treat the consoles correct and give them adequate ventilation you shouldn't have problems with either motherboard.

As for the hack RGH 1 is the prefered hack, simply because of the boot times both RGH1 and RGH2 do the same, the difference is the boot times between the two. Not too sure on RGH2 boot times as I've never had one and don't plan it anytime soon. (Just took average times from the internet for RGH2)
RGH1 = 5-30 Seconds
RGH2= 15-45 Seconds

Thanks for the info, for ventilation I was gonna peel the shell off of it like my current xbox and install a 12v fan, possibly even ghetto rig two fans in a push pull config on the CPU heatsink.

Terrabytez in the Xbox sections.. now this is something new.

Jaspers are the most recently released PHAT motherboards. They are least prone to RROD. If you're going PHAT, get a Jasper. Falcons are also decent consoles, 2nd most recent, after the Jasper. Still great and not very prone to RROD, but still more prone than the Jaspers are. Main difference between RGH1 and RGH2 are the boot times. RGH2 typically have slower boot times but the Jaspers more often than not, have good boot times, regardless of the exploit performed. You could also look at R-JTAGing or wait a few weeks for the CR4 XL to be released by T-X. This chip will give you insta-boot(apparently). You can purchase a retail Jasper for around £50 or so, with cables and possibly a HDD also which is a fair price IMHO.

I wonder if he's found what he's looking for as the post is a month old?
Anyway I'd recommend getting a Jasper RGH1 as well.
If you're buying from the U.S I'd suggest the user above me, Rodent always seems to produce excellent consoles from what I have seen.
