i took a look inside my computer. i disconnected and reconnected everything worked. but after i disconnect the heat sink off the cpu the thermal paste was dry. i put it back together and it started to beep. Not having thermal paste can cause it to beep? + rep for anyone that can help.

Wait, YOU DON'T HAVE THERMAL PASTE?
Shut the PC off NOW before it is too late and the CPU is fried.
not having thermal past won't cause i to beep, it will cause the CPU to overheat and burn up. There is a reason why it is used....
If your PC isn't dead, you are one lucky mother trucker. But why would you run it without thermal compound? If it is because it was hard and you removed it completely then that was a stupid move.

Probably one of the funniest things Ive heard.

Terrabytez is right, thermal paste is used to help transfer heat from the CPU to the heatsink. Without it, your CPU would have got ridiculously hot and probably fried it which is causing the beeping.

Looks like you'll be buying/building a PC soon

Guys you cannot "burn up" a processor in that manner. All modern processors are made with a Thermal Junction (TJmax) which is designed to cut power to the processor when a set temperature is reached.

Faulty hardware and overclocking are usually the cause of frying processors, but thermals are not.
