I'm just curious to see what you all think about this. I will be purchasing either an Xbox One or PS4 later today! The problem is I don't know which one I should go with. I've heard bad things about the Xbox One which has caused me to stray away from it. I am leaning towards the PS4 but would like to know if you all have any input of your own to add before I decide. Thanks!

Both of the consoles have had problems. The current problem that I have right now with the PS4 is that it gets really hot like you can almost cook an omelette on the top of it. Even if you have it properly vented it still gets pretty hot. So because of that I see quite a bit of overheating issues in the future.

As for the Xbox One, I really haven't had many problems with it. People have had the disc drive issues but I got a "Day One" edition and had no problem with the disc drive. Microsoft took out most of the things that people were worried most about. Like all you have to do to play offline is get the "Day One" update which will allow you to be able to play it without internet. The only real problem I see with it right now is the storage, which you need to install your games in order to play them so it uses allot of storage. But Microsoft is going to be rolling out an update that will support external storage through a USB.

You're wanting the opinion of people for which console to get, well I have both and right now I play my Xbox One allot more than PS4. If you're not able to get both then I'd go with the one which your friends are on or are going to be getting. Like if you play PS3 then go with the PS4 and ditto for the Xbox One.

I hope this has helped in your decision.

I can't say much for a PS4 because I don't have one and I've never had a PS3 I've always had xbox so the majority of people I play with have xbox that's why I got a xbox one. So if you have a Xbox get a xbox one....

I haven't had any problems with the Xbox one at all, personally I think it's a great console and it will definatly be worth the purchase in the long run with games coming out etc.

I totally agree with everything nober555 has said.

Xbox One is a great console and is a dead set for the future of gaming.

I currently own both consoles there are lists as long as my arm that could tell you the pros and cons of each console.

First statement is to the pc gamers, yes, neither console is as powerful as a PC we know this, i also own a pretty decent gaming rig spending around 950 GBP on it and it plays games effortlessly and more beautiful than the consoles do this being said, at the moment there are no new games for the pc to test against a console once watchdogs is released im sure we can compare it.

PS 4 Pros and cons:-

Pros:-
> Cheaper
> PSN is cheaper (and vastly improved from the old PSN)

>Better Exclusives (yes this is down to opinion but from the announced exclusives the PS4 is winning)

>faster game Load times and faster boot up
>Dont have to wait for game installs to complete 100% before playing unlike the XB1

>Quite a few free games to play including, War Thunder, Warframe and DC universe

Cons:-

> Crappy free Headset
> No skype service/DVR editor

Xbox one Pros and Cons:-

Pros :-

> Good Free Headset
> Comes with the new Kinect
> Vast array of Apps including Skype
> Free DVR recorder (which is pretty decent)

Cons:-

> Not a great lineup of exclusives announced so far
> More Frequent xbox live issues than before
> Controller has no Built in Battery pack
> Play and charge kits dont last as long as PS4
> Have to wait for game updates/installation to complete 100% before playing

>Very slow installation time compared with ps4
>Very little free games.

Viewing these points i do realize that most of them are down to opinions, and i bought an xbox one on Day one and thought it was amazing, i thought Ryse looked beautiful and Dead Rising 3 was awesome.

Unfortunately the Awe soon wore off and and i was left thinking that for my 500 i should have had more, Ryse soon becomes stale doing the same "Counter, attack, Counter attack" context sensitive battles with no real sense of skill and Dead rising while thoroughly fun to play was not a very Long or extensive campaign with very little to do outside the blow up some ZDZ speakers and collect blue prints for some weapons that you probably wont use.

i then bought a ps4 at the advice of the members from here and i haven't been disappointed, i picked it up with Ghosts and INFAMOUS second son, and even after completing infamous on both karmic routes i still prefer it much more, with Warframe and DC universe it adds MMO games to the mix, something the XB1 doesnt.

Like mentioned above, my advice would be to gofor the console you see most of your friends getting, OR go for the console you think you will enjoy the exclusives of more than the other, dont forget its E3 in june, and A LOT more exclusives will be announced there than we currently know about.

But for me i think the PS4 will be the console of this generation largeley down to the better specs that the devs can get more out of.

good luck
