Well first of all how much money do you have to spend on building it up? Honestly if it's that much you might as well just build a new rig as it wouldn't be much more at all. That of course is up to you. You also didn't list all the specs of the computer. There is a program called "Speccy" that you can download that will help you figure more out. I can't really recommend much without knowing the motherboard that's in it. A new processor, more RAM, and a decent GPU are the things you are going to be looking at getting.

if you want a cheap GPU, GTX 750
However, you will probably want to upgrade the PSU.
If you can afford, a CPU upgrade won't hurt.

Nearly all GTX750's and most GTX750Ti's get their power through the PCIe slot so no PSU upgrade would be necessary.

I knew that, but you still wouldn't want a crud PSU.

Wouldn't make much of a difference if the rest of the system was unchanged from its original spec. If its lasted this long then its unlikely it'll die from a new graphics upgrade.

If the caps were going, he'd know about it.
