Okay, so recently I've been saving up to get a moped (which is not going well at all haha) but I really want to know the dangers of them.

I hear of people getting knocked off their bikes by cars and seriously hurting themselves. But in all honesty, Whenever I've driven my mates cars on the roads, I always look out for bikers and be careful around them.

If you guys have had any injuries or have had people you know injured on a motorbike, please tell me

Also, I'm not worried about the speed because it's only going to go 28mph

lets be honest, there are so many kinds of dangers with them. Your out in the open. Youre vunerable and you have no metal around you to protect you from a crash. The good news is the dangers dont count as much on a moped. They are still more dangerous than cars but, not going at significant speed and driving careful you should be just fine, you have nothing to worry about.

Just because they don't go too fast doesn't mean not to wear a helmet though If you hit your head of the ground that could be you dead or seriously injured.

The only real danger is that someone might see you riding a moped and that would be very embarrassing.

One big danger with motor bikes on the road is that they aren't as visible as a car is. I have seen it happen where a motor bike will be driving next to a car, then the car just switches lanes and hits the biker because the driver didn't see them there.

I don't know much about mopeds because nobody has them here, but the fatality rate on a motorcycle is way higher than the fatality rate of people who drive cars.

I find statistics are a lot more helpful than opinions.
Logically it makes sense that there are more deaths when it comes to motorbikes because there is pretty much no protection from whatever hits you.

You are more protected in a car in comparison to a motorbike / scooter and you hear lots of stories about motorbike accidents, however there are more cars on the roads therefore more car accidents.

I personally want a motorcycle as my dream bike is a Yamaha R6. Be aware of your surroundings when riding and try to judge the driving of others as you will gain on the road riding experience which is much needed.

Stay away from wet leaves and ice .. Just a tip ;)
