So, I got my X12's at my local Walmart today, and I plugged it it in my controller only. The problem is that the audio is faint, even though the volume is on max.
Is it because not all the plugs are plugged in the console/TV, or are they defective?

Most likely it's because you didn't connect the cords that you need to, or you probably did but they were in the correct place. If you are sure you dud everything correct, i would just return it and get your money back.

Try going to Preferences > Voice > and at the bottom, click "Play Through Headset".
If the USB part of the Turtle Beaches is not plugged in, it will have no power source, and may not work correctly.
Try turning up the chat volume on the headset if none of those worked.
If nothing I said worked, try emailing the maker.
Hope I helped.
