Is there any way to initiate the update? or will i just be booted offline and update will happen?

It depends on your time zone really, it will come up when you turn your xbox on.

i got it about an hour ago and its very stupid, you cant accept any invites for some reason

because you need to have everybody on the same version as you i bet you can accept from others that have gottn the update

I haven't got it yet. I'm on the East Coast. Doesn't really matter though because none of my friends got an Xbox One

If you read the agreement you accepted
it stated you will not be able to send or receive any invites
from people who do not have the update!
