Shocking moment 500lb bomb is dropped on US soldiers by mistake



Astonishing headcam footage has been released showing the moment a 500lb bomb was apparently dropped on a unit of US soldiers fighting in Afghanistan by mistake.

The American troops were reportedly engaged in combat with Taliban forces in the Paktika province when a simultaneous airstrike was called.

However, the operation went dramatically wrong when the bomb was dropped on a US army infantry outpost in error, according to military website funker350.

Amazingly, there were no casualties from the bungled operation.

After spotting Taliban forces on a distant ridge line, U.S. Army mortar teams engage with 60mm mortars. A simultaneous airstrike is called in which accidentally drops a 500 pound bomb on a U.S. Army infantry outpost, mistaking the position for Taliban fighters.

Its really not funny because if that would have landed 10 feet further that would be 5-10 men dead. You saw how packed that bunker was.

I hoenstly thought a 500lb bomb would be a lot bigger of a boom. Glad everyone is safe and sound tho.

That one mistake could have been costly !!
So luck that no soldiers were injured from that explosion
