I've been looking into buying the game "Skyrim" of off Steam but I'm not sure whether my current PC would be capable of running it smoothly without any lag and would allow me to be able to have many add-ons without it responding in any negative way.
This is my current pc:

I've had this PC for approximately six months now and I try to keep it updated and uncluttered. It still runs quite fast, but due to the recent weather my wifi has been affected by it.

Many thanks to anyone who can respond to my query.

Considering that these:
OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP (32 or 64 bit)
CPU: dual core 2GHz
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 6GB hard disk space
GFX: DX9c video card with 512MB RAM
OTHER: Internet Access for Steam activation

Are the skyrim requirements, and you don't have a graphics card, I would say no.

You might wanna upgrade the RAM and get a new CPU. My PC is auto-set for skyrim on Ultra High, but even still with all the addons I use (open cities, extra textures and flora, etc.) I get slowed down to about 25fps

This computer could have up to a Nvidia 615 2GB video card installed. The one you have listed us does not tell us that. If you could go to your device manager and tell us if you indeed do have this video card it would help us greatly!

I've searched the web and couldn't find any version of the c540 that had a 615.

The one you linked doesn't have a dedicated GPU, and that PC is running Intel HD 4000 graphics, which isn't great. I've run BF4 on low with Intel HD 4600, and it was playable. You should be able to run it on the lowest possible settings, at a low resolution (maybe less than 720p), and it should be just playable, but I wouldn't really want to play it on that machine.

You don't have a dedicated graphics card and its a low end CPU so you wont be able to run it
