Sent my RGH away to get repaired, they said it needed re-flowing (It does).
Before I went to buy some paste etc I towel tricked it, and it works.
(It did) now it freezes at boot.

I knew It was the GPU.. By the way, I'm not being 100% serious... Its for the lols...

When making something hotter to fix a problem with overheating does not make sense at all.

I said It was a stupid idea, It hasn't worked in months, Haven't really bothered with it.

(I just made this thread for people to facepalm and call me stupid)

Good job! Now you could have potentially ruined other components that will need more than a reflow to fix!

But in all seriousness, you could have damaged a MOSFET which are extremely hard to get off while keeping the motherboard in good condition.

No its cool, its the GPU, I don't really tend on fixing it anytime soon to be fair, I got bored.

I would like to say after leaving it to cool down the console works amazingly well without freezing.

I only did this because it RROD'd the first day i got it and its been sat formonths.

I know this is a temporarty fix, but i'm happy, I know it was a seriously stupid idea.
