so today i bought a iPhone 4S and its locked to O2, my contract is on 3 network and i dont want to pay for it to be unlocked, could i possibly jailbreak my iPhone and use SAM on iOS7 to change the carrier or is that outdated, if that wont work could you link me to a video or tell me how to unlock it quickly, i dont want to wait days so is there a way or not, thanks.:-)

No , u can not jailbreak your phone . U have to be able to unlock your phone in order to jailbreak

you do not need to have an unlocked iphone to jailbreak. they are two different things, you can jailbreak your phone first which will make it easier to unlock.

You do not need to jailbreak your iPhone in order to unlock it.

Contact your carrier, their policy with unlocking iPhones might be lenient allowing you to do it.

If not, you can always pay a third party to do it. This can and will be costly.

The only way a jailbreak would make unlocking a phone easier is if there is a software unlock. There have only been a few software unlocks.

I see people posting about SAM. SAM was a glitch in apple's activation system. It has been patched.

The only other way to software unlock is to have an iPhone 4 running on iOS 4.0. That was the last baseband that was unlockable via software.
