I have an SSD and a HDD, my Windows 8 is on my SSD and I wan't to install another OS on my HDD. Is it safe to unplug my SSD for the installation process of the other OS on my HDD? The reason I ask is because last time I did it I got into the 'automatic repair' loop and I don't want to get stuck in it again.

Well yeah it should be fine as long as you don't unplug it when it's on lol. You can also just go into the boot device menu and change the first boot device to your hard drive.
