alright noted
here is a build,
for a nice workstation with a possibility of gaming if you would ever want it to be used for such
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
if not interested in building yourself here
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
also capable of gaming if ever desired
Monitors:

of course the one I recommended to build yourself is alot better but they will both do what you need

Not doubting you're knowledge but he does not need a 1 thousand pound gpu for word.

Work station Gpu - [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Never the less the 270x would be overkill but its worth it within that budget also you're using a full size build.

the 270x would be fine, if you decide to go with it.
may I ask what programs you will be using?

The OP states in the post he will use "Spreadsheets, Powerpoints and Microsoft Word Quite a lot and spend time surfing the internet for Research"

+1 Alexyy's build there's no need for a thousand dollar GPU for those programs.

Will you be overclocking? I doubt you will as it is a workstation PC, so you could save some money by going with HIV's build, but getting the I7 4770 [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] And a different motherboard.

Most these build are overkill, he doesn't need ridiculous power, like seriously a 925GBP GPU? Why would he ever need that? He's not a god damn game designer /: Honestly You could do this build for about 600GBP easily, if not less.

Not really, yes the graphics card is overkill, however Alexyy's build is fine. It could be done in 600 GBP however the result would be worse. The SSD would take up over 1/6 of the budget, and for a workstation PC a SSD is vital for programs and files he will be using. Also, he would want a good CPU so he can manage tasks and such, the i7 may be overkill but with that budget it will get the job done perfectly. Also, if he isn't going to overclock like i said before you can get an i7 4770 and a B85 motherboard.
