I'm going to very blunt with this to get my point across.

Animals are not humans, I understand the hipster thing to say is "well humans are animals to" and its like ok from a scientific stand point sure. But my friends dog cant drive a car to go to work, work, and then come home and pay taxes. I do not think any animal can do that. When I see people like dress there pets up it drives me up the wall. Like the entire reason your pet has FUR is for the exact reason you think a dinky doggy sweater will work, its to keep them warm.

Its just annoying to see and hear about how people would rather take the life of a human rather then take the life of an animal. Its seriously sickening. People have been hunting and killing animals since the invention of humans, sharp objects, and animals. But now a days randomly for some odd reason hunting and killing animals is all of a sudden cruel and wrong. It doesn't make sense to me.

I understand where you are coming from. I wouldn't take a human over a animal. It is only common sense that we save Humans.

I believe in the (humane) killing of animals only for reasons such as a food source for humans, to put a terminally ill animal to rest etc...

And that any cruel acts or deaths imposed upon an animal should be dealt with accordingly, perhaps years behind bars.

I disagree completely [except for your second point], probably because I don't believe in a moral structure or that humans are special and that we are in fact an evolutionary mistake.

Your first point can be refuted with a quote from Einstein, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."
Just because a dog can't drive a car or pay taxes doesn't mean it's any less than a human.
Your point could also be turned to say that a disabled doctor is worth less than a serial killer because the disabled doctor can't drive a car.

The dressing up their pets point is your opinion, and I agree to be honest, they do look very stupid.

I can't really comment on the last point because I would probably be taken by instinct in that moment, I don't think humans are worth any more than animals or vice versa, however, If I did I would choose to save the Human, not because the animal is worth less, but because the Human can contribute more potential good to the world.

If thinking like this makes me a hipster then so be it.

I don't agree with you.

It's all about relationships, you can easily have a stronger bond with a dog for example than a human. Humans have the same rights as any animals. There are laws on killing innocent animals, they use innocent as a term not just randomly. All animals are innocent they kill to eat, that's exactly what us humans do on a large scale. However I agree with you on painting a dog, it aggravates me to.

Your argument seems to be that animals don't deserve rights because your friends dog doesn't drive to work, work and pay taxes.
