So I have a computer that is a few years old and I get low-medium fps rates on medium-high graphics. I'm looking to upgrade some parts

Specs:
Cpu - i5-2320 3ghz
Gpu - Radeon HD 6670
Ram - 8gb 640MHz
HDD - 2tb 7200rpm

If I were to upgrade this build I would salvage the cpu, hdd and disc drive.
And then upgrade the motherboard, ram, gpu and get an ssd.

Assuming you just want better performance in games, you should just upgrade your graphics card. Chances are you'll need to upgrade your power supply as well. You may also want a new case for better airflow and cable management. You've already got a good base.

Upgrading your board and RAM would be a waste of money. Your CPU is locked, your RAM speed is fine (1333 MT/s, ~665 MHz), and you have the PCIe 16x slot.

Well the motherboard I already have currently doesn't support a graphics card with PCIe 3.0
