At that age, you're in 7th/8th grade and some even in 9th grade. That age you should at least know the difference between there, their, your, you're, then, and than. Just saying.

It's really not that hard.. I don't understand why some people just don't get it..

I'll probably get some hate for this, but I think you should also think about the different circumstances. Not everyone's first language is english, so you can't expect them to have good grammar. I understand where you're coming from when you say that it doesn't take much to correct an underlined word. Honestly, very few people pay attention to that. Also, this being the internet, you can't expect people to always be paying attention to what they're writing. Finally, I'd just like to say that I do understand what you're trying to say. I also get annoyed sometimes when I see a post/thread that doesn't even make sense, but I've learned to just accept it and move on.

Most of the people here are young, and just starting out with their lives, so this is to be expected. It should become a real concern, if they still make the same mistakes as adults, when they have serious things to worry about such as their job, family, etc.

Cheers & Happy New Year

Tygaa wrote I'm sure there has been numerous topics on this, but here is my take on this.

Over the years on this site and mainly in general, I have seen some pretty bad grammar and for some reason it just drives me nuts when I see people not using the right punctuation and spelling. Maybe it's peoples age on here and they haven't learned that much from school or maybe it is the abbreviations that everyone on the internet uses (wtf, lol, rofl, etc.) Funny thing is, the site has a spell check on it. If a word has red lines under them, right click the word and change it to the correct word. Half the stuff I read on this site, drives me nuts.

Maybe I'm just crazy and am just a huge grammar Nazi.

Edit: Before anyone says something about my name, I only did it because it was the closest thing to the real name.
Your grammar nor spelling is perfect. So don't judge others unless you're perfect in what your ranting about.

I agree that good spelling and grammar do matter.
While it doesn't have to be impeccable, if I can't understand what you're saying, It's going to reflect on whatever point you're trying to make and my thoughts about you as a person.
Something I have noticed is that the people with good grammar are usually the ones who people consider to be useful members, the ones who don't post as often or spam as much.
It does show how much a person really cares about what they're saying if they can't use the correct form of 'Your.'

By all means people can post however they want, but if they do post with low standards of spelling and grammar, people will and do judge them for it.
It's up to them whether they're OK with that or not.

That's not the point. I know I'm not perfect by any means, but if you see you spelled something wrong, you should at least fix it. It's called professionalism.

Thank You. I am right there with you. I am a huge grammar Nazi, when someone messes up the your, you're or their, there, the're. As well as another one that is quite little "I could care less" and "I couldn't care less" when people say I could care less, they are saying that they care a little bit.

But hay, not everyone has perfect grammar.
