I have been waiting for the DayZ standalone since it was announced, a very long time ago. I have been playing DayZ since the release of the DayZ mod on Arma 2, I know my stuff when it comes to DayZ. I have also seen DayZ change over the 2 1/2ish years since its been out.
I have been playing a lot of the Standalone and have been loving it, It's a great game so far and its in very early alpha, personally I have seen no bugs at all and I have played alot since release. The only issue at the moment for me is coastal loot spawns, currently loot only respawns when the server is restarted, this is a big issue for me as it is quite hard to gear up. At the moment I have been up North, around the airfield and stary, and I have been having no issues with loot up there, it seems to be on the coast where the loot deficiency is, in other words, get off the coast and explore up north!

I have never played the original mod for ARMA II (DayZ) and I don't intend on buying this either. But from those screenshots, it looks okay. Glad you're enjoying it though.
