Which of these motherboards would be the best for Gaming? I've already ordered the Gigabyte, but I'm considering sending it back and buying the MSI, they cost the same.

Welcome to TTG!

If it was me i'd get the Gigabyte board, as its a cracking overclocking board but the MSI will be good too. For gaming either will do just fine.

I know this is a matter of opinion, however, Gigabyte is one of my favorite boards. It has never let me down. Most technician's recommend Gigabyte and it is one of the top selling boards in the Country.

It looks like the manufacturers list 1600Mhz being the highest speed memory without overclocking but it wouldn't stop you manually setting the speed in the BIOS should you wish.

Then again!
The MSI supports 64GB of RAM, while the Gigabyte only supports 32GB, probably never gonna go that high anyway, but better to be on the safe side, right?

The vast majority use 8GB of RAM for gaming and honestly current games wouldn't even use all of that. 16GB is overkill for gaming.

If you prefer the MSI design and styling then go for that one, there isn't anything wrong with choosing a board on looks if the specs are the same/similar.

Yeah, i guess I'll try the MSI, if it's not any good, I'll know not to go MSI next time

If you want to save some money, the you might consider the Z87-G45 Gaming, as its cheaper and the only reason you'd get the GD65 would be for potentially better overclocks.
