Genre(s): Music & Rhythm

Gameplay

As with previous games in the series, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is a rhythm game, allowing up to four people play in a band on vocals, lead and bass/rhythm guitar, and drums, to use special instrument controllers to simulate the playing of rock music.[1][2] In general, the goal for each player is to match scrolling note gems that correspond to that instrument's part in the given song to score points; the guitar and bass player must hold down the appropriate colored buttons on the controller and then use the strum bar as the notes pass over a marked zone; the drummer must strike the matching drum pads on the controller when the notes pass, and the vocalist must match the relative pitch of the song's lyrics as guided by phrase markers. Successfully striking notes earns points and boosts the player's performance meter; missing notes will cause this meter to drop. When playing by one's self, if the performance meter should empty, the song will end and require the player to restart it; when playing in a band, the remaining band members must play well enough for a limited time to "revive" a player that has fallen out due to an empty performance meter, or else the whole band will fail the song. Prior to the start of a song, each player can select one of five difficulty levels: Beginner, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert, with a sixth difficulty of Expert+ available to some songs on the drums which introduce a double bass pedal. Harder difficulties have characters with high note densities and more difficult playing techniques; each player can select their own difficulty to play.
For guitar and bass players, the players are given the opportunity to play single notes or chords, both as single notes or sustained, during which the players must continue to hold down the fret button(s) for the extent of the sustain. Some charts provide the ability to hold down one sustained note via its fret button while strumming additional notes. Warriors of Rock also provides simulated hammer-ons and pull-offs, where, after striking one note, specifically marked notes can be played by fingering the correct buttons but without strumming. There are also note portions of some songs where notes appear ghosted relative to normal notes; these notes can be played simply by tapping the correct buttons on the controller without strumming. Bass players can play open chords by strumming without holding any fret buttons. Warriors of Rock introduces sustained open chords for bass players, although unlike other sustainable notes, does not require you to hold down the button required to execute the note initially.[3] Drum players, when using velocity-sensitive drum kits, may be presented with both ghosted notes or notes with a shield icon over them; these represents drum notes that should be struck softer or harder than normal, respectively, to score more points. Drum players can also attach a second bass drum pedal, necessary for certain songs in the "Expert+" difficulty.
If the player successfully matches a number of consecutive notes correctly, they boost their individual scoring multiplier up to a maximum 4x value; missing a note will reset to the multiplier back to 1x. Throughout each song's respective charts for the instruments are special highlighted phrases; completing all the notes in this phrase, and for guitar/bass players, using the whammy bar on marked sustained notes, fills part of a Star Power meter. When this meter is at least half full, the player can activate Star Power by performing special actions on their controllers: either tilting the guitar controller upward briefly or pressing the Star Power activation button for guitar and bass; striking two pads simultaneously on the drums; and either double tapping the microphone or pressing one of the buttons on the game console's regular controllers for vocals. When Star Power is activated, the overall band scoring multiplier is increased for a limited time until the Star Power meter is drained. After completing a song, the band is awarded a number of stars based on the overall score; in normal modes for Warriors of Rock, up to six stars can be earned; the final being achievable only through zero misses and zero extra strums. A major addition in Warriors of Rock is the use of special powers that come from special "warrior" forms of pre-defined characters that are unlocked through the game's Quest mode. These powers alter certain aspects of the core gameplay; one character allows for the Star Power multiplier to boost up to six times instead of just double, while another earns the player a star for maintaining a scoring multiplier above a certain target for a length of time. When these powers are active, the players can earn well beyond five stars on a score either due to higher scoring opportunities or stars rewarded by the power, with a maximum of 40 stars available for each song.

Game Modes

As with previous iterations of Guitar Hero, Warriors of Rock provides a career mode called "Quest Mode" that progresses through each of the on-disc songs. Quest Mode is centered on a story-telling element narrated by Gene Simmons, where the player must help save the Demigod of Rock from a mechanized creature called the Beast.[5] To do this, the player must recruit eight characters for the battle against the Beast, each who have a unique power that affects gameplay. To recruit a character, the player must perform a number of songs that represent that character's musical genre within a stylistic venue; for example, the first character, the mohawk-wearing Johnny Napalm, has a number of punk songs available, and uses the now-defunct CBGB Club in New York City as his venue.[3][6] After the player earns a minimum number of stars for that character, that character is transformed into a "warrior", boosting their unique power, and is recruited into the player's band.Mid-way through the Quest, the players will encounter the legendary ax-guitar that belongs to the Demigod; this section is highlighted by playing through the full seven-part "2112" by Rush. Rush's members, Geddy Lee, Neil Peart, and Alex Lifeson, narrate this section based on the story outlined in the liner notes of the 2112 album. The "2112" section also takes place in special venues inspired by the "2112" song, including the cave where the ax-guitar is found, and one highlighting the iconic Starman image.[7][8] After recruiting all eight characters, the player must divide the characters into two bands to "fight" against the Beast as to earn a maximum number of stars from each band's combined powers in order to power the ax-guitar and allow the Demigod to finish the Beast himself. This last battle is set to a new song, "Sudden Death" by Megadeth (which would later appear in their album Thirteen, released the following year) and written by their front-man Dave Mustaine specifically for the conclusion of the game,[9] and contains portions that he believed were "the most difficult parts" he has written in his life.[10] When the player has completed the battle with the Beast, they have the opportunity to return to the previous venues, now with all eight powers active simultaneously, and attempt to achieve 40-star performances for each song in the game, as well as a comparatively difficult set of songs with the Demigod himself.
Gaming journalists have noted thematic similarities between the story details of Warriors of Rock and Brtal Legend, an action video game with a world based on heavy metal, developed by Tim Schafer and Double Fine which Activision, at one point, would have published but later dropped the rights.[10][11][12][13] Project lead Brian Bright commented that their inspiration for the game's story was the covers of metal albums, the same material that led to the world of Brtal Legend.[14]
In the game's Quickplay+ mode, players can play any song on-disc or from their downloadable content library. Each song has 13 different achievements to be completed. Twelve are similar to the Challenges introduced in Guitar Hero 5, such as getting a high score, maintain a long note streak, or accumulating an amount of Star Power, and each has 3 levels (gold, platinum, and diamond) that translate to 1 to 3 additional stars once reached. If the player has unlocked the Warrior character powers in the Quest mode, they can enable these powers to try to get up to a maximum of 20 stars (21 for successfully completing the song without missing a note or hitting notes that aren't there) on each song for the thirteenth challenge.[4] As the player earns stars in this mode, they will advance in rank and gain additional unlockable features such as alternate outfits or guitars and additional venue selections.[15] Party mode introduced in Guitar Hero 5 is also available, where the game will automatically play songs like a jukebox, and allow for players to drop-in or drop-out at any time.[5] The competitive modes introduced in Guitar Hero 5 are also carried over into Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, and are expanded to include band-vs-band variants.[3][6]
The Wii version improves the "Roadie" game version introduced in Guitar Hero 5. In this mode, up to four additional players with their own Nintendo DS wirelessly connected to the Wii (the "Roadies") can assist the other players using instrument controllers. The Roadies can create setlists from the DS, or engage in gameplay through "spells" that improve the performance of the player they are assigned to. Alternatively, in Roadie Battle mode, the Roadies can attempt to distract another player while at the same time removing the distractions placed on their player by another Roadie.[5] Warriors of Rock includes an improved version of a song creation tool, allowing players to share their songs using the online "GHTunes" services. Improvements include the ability to lay down note tracks directly while playing one of the instrument controllers and a larger number of guitar, bass, and drum samples to use.[6] The player can use the built-on GH Studio to create their own music, save for vocals, to share with others on the GH Tracks service, either by laying down tracks one note at a time, or by jamming along to a pre-defined beat. Players can create their own customized rocker to use in Quickplay+ or online modes through the character creator, or use either the regular form or the Warrior version of the eight on-disc characters. There are no caricatures of real-life musicians in the game due to ongoing legal issues with the likenesses of musician celebrities in Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero.

Development

After weak sales in 2009 of several titles in the Guitar Hero series, Activision proceeded to make several changes with their internal development teams. The company dissolved RedOctane, bringing in some of the staff directly into Activision.[16] Activision further shuttered Neversoft's Guitar Hero division, pending the completion of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, with further development in the series to be created by some former Neversoft members and Vicarious Visions.[17] Brian Bright, former Neversoft member and current project lead, noted that part of the poor sales of Guitar Hero in 2009 was a result of a loss of focus with Guitar Hero 5, stating that "we were trying to please everyone out there and I think in the end you end up not pleasing any one person a lot".[18] With Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, Bright wanted to bring the game back to please the fans of the earlier Guitar Hero games, specifically the highly successful Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.[18] To that end, the team developed a soundtrack "more focused on rock 'n' roll" than the variety of genres within Guitar Hero 5.[3] The songs are more guitar-centric, as proven to be the most popular instrument choice based on Guitar Hero 5.[5] Bright noted they used player statistics from previous games to shape Warriors of Rock; for example, according to Bright, within a month of release, 40% of the players of Guitar Hero 5 were playing on Expert mode, and felt this was the audience they needed to cater to.[19] Bright also stated that the aim of Warriors of Rock was to create a game with "its own identity" from both previous Guitar Hero titles and other rhythm games; "Rather than go head-to-head with our own games and our competitors, we decided we wanted to make something different."[19]
Part of creating the new identity for Warriors of Rock was by creating the game's Quest mode. Activision contacted Gene Simmons, who initially thought the company was asking for a KISS song to be included in the game. Instead, when Simmons learned they wanted him to be the narrator and the voice of the Demigod, he became very interested in the project feeling that the Demigod character had elements of his own stage personality in it.[20] Activision also approached the members of Rush for inclusion of "2112", and the group provided inspiration and feedback on the Rush-themed venues that "2112" is played in within the game.[21] The Quest mode also gave Activision the opportunity to explore the characters that have been in the series since its inception but otherwise only used as player avatar. The developers were able to expand on these existing designs and gave each one a unique venue and setlist throughout the campaign.[6]
A new guitar controller was developed for the game to help with "shredding" and an art style to match the changes made in the game's visuals.[15] The guitar hardware has been significantly redesigned to locate most of the base electronics and wireless controls into the main fretboard of the unit, containing the colored fret buttons, strum and whammy bar, and other controls for interacting with the game console. As such, this allows the body of the guitar to be swappable with custom designs, allowing players to personalize the control to their wishes; one design will be exclusive to those that pre-order the game through GameStop.[22] The new guitar controller remains backwards compatible with previous games. Within North America, the new drum kit is also sold individually or in bundles with Warriors of Rock. The kit had previously been packed with Band Hero in the United Kingdom and with the Wii version of Band Hero in North America, but otherwise was not sold separately. The drum kit is MIDI-enabled with a detachable "drum brain" allowing other drum kits to be used instead with the game, while the game's kit can be used with any MIDI-capable music editing system.[23] The music video for Soundgarden's "Black Rain", is animated by Titmouse, Inc., the same studio that performs the in-game animations for Guitar Hero as well as Metalocalypse, and includes images of a young man playing Guitar Hero using the new guitar controller introduced in Warriors of Rock.[24]
A demo for the game was released on Xbox Live on September 7, 2010, and features four songs: "Children of the Grave" by Black Sabbath, "No Way Back" by the Foo Fighters, "Ghost" by Slash featuring Ian Astbury, and "Bloodlines" by Dethklok.[25] On release, some players reported getting faulty discs, which Activision stated they will replace.

Soundtrack

There are 93 songs on disc for Warriors of Rock.[27] According to Bright, all the songs have been selected to fit within a narrow set of music genres, "punk, alternative rock, and classic rock", to avoid dilution of the game's focus.[19] Bright noted that "there's still range and still a lot of variety in this game" to avoid alienating long-time fans of the series in general.[6] The developers also looked at various song structures and considered if they would be fun to play; Bright said that a good song for the game "would have a memorable riff but not feel repetitive" and "would be a good amount of chord changes and, ideally, a fun guitar solo to add to the challenge".[21] Two songs, Alice Cooper's "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and The Runaways' "Cherry Bomb", have been specifically re-recorded for use in Warriors of Rock.[28] Megadeth's "Sudden Death" was specifically written as the final song within Warriors of Rock's setlist; its polyrhythms and difficult passes to make it one of the toughest songs to beat.[9][29] "Sudden Death" was nominated, but did not win, for "Best Metal Performance" for the 53rd Grammy Awards; this, along with the song "Baba Yetu" from Civilization IV and "Video Games Live", represents the first time a song composed for a video game has earned a Grammy nomination, with "Baba Yetu" continuing to win its award.[30]
Warriors of Rock supported additional songs through downloadable content that players can purchase on their respective console storefronts. All previous downloadable content that worked with Guitar Hero 5, including previous content from Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, and Band Hero, will work in Warriors of Rock. More than 500 tracks will be available to players at launch.[3] In addition, 39 songs from Guitar Hero: Metallica were importable into Warriors of Rock upon the game's release.[31] In February 2011, Activision decided to shutter their Guitar Hero development, and initially stated that no further downloadable content will be forthcoming.[32] Due to "continued support" from their fanbase, Activision has since decided it will continue to release downloadable content for Warriors of Rock through at least March and April 2011 with packs that were in the works prior to the closure of Guitar Hero.[33][34]
Initial shipments of the game in the United States will also be bundled with Soundgarden's latest album, Telephantasm, which includes the new track "Black Rain" and other previous Soundgarden songs; "Black Rain" will be available on the Warriors of Rock disc to play, while the remaining eleven tracks on the album, songs from previous Soundgarden albums, will be available as downloadable content alongside release of the game.[35][36][37][38] Because of the album's inclusion with over one million shipped copies of Warriors of Rock, the Recording Industry Association of America certified Telephantasm as a platinum record; it is considered the first time such a distinction has been made based on "non-returnable units from a music label to a gaming company" according to Soundgarden's promotional group.

Gameplay

The player assumes the role of Daryl Dixon, who can either fight the walkers or stealthily sneak past them. As he travels, he meets other survivors, who can either help or leave. He will have to be cautious of how much fuel, ammo and food he has, and think very strategically of who and how many he chooses to take in to his group. When he travels, he can either choose to take the highway, and save fuel but break down a lot, or take the small roads, where he will be able to scavenge from small villages and chance of breaking down is low. He can also change the vehicle he is using, ranging from a small truck to an SUV. The vehicles use up fuel which you have to watch over. When you run out of fuel, you must stop at various roadsides to try and scavenge jerry cans of fuel.

Plot

In the midst of a zombie outbreak and shortly after the death of Daryl Dixon's father, Daryl and Jess Collins escape their mountain shelter to gather supplies in the nearby town of Sedalia. During the scavenger hunt for fuel, Daryl meets Jimmy Blake, the last standing officer of Sedalia, on the top of a roof, who requested Daryl to find radio batteries to call for help. In a nearby gas station, Daryl meets Warren Bedford, who gives fuel to Daryl under the condition that he joins the group. The trio then escapes with the newly acquired fuel, this time heading to Pembertom.
Upon entering Pemberton, Jess continues to get weaker from a bite he suffered in the mountains. At the campgrounds, Daryl meets deputy Lee, who gives Daryl a shotgun and asks him to look for a park ranger in order to get car keys to another vehicle. When looking for the ranger, Daryl hears a girl being devoured over a radio. Daryl also finds out that the ranger has turned into a zombie already. In the aftermath, Jess succumbs to the bite and reanimates, leaving Daryl and Warren as the only survivors.[6]
Shortly after arriving at a town called Fontana to look for his brother Merle Dixon, Daryl hears gun shots from a building and assumes that it's an unknown lunatic. The unknown shooter was later revealed to be Merle, who was trying to protect himself from U.S. soldiers attempting to bring him to prison. Merle joins the group and demands to go to a bar called Jake's as their next destination.[6]
When Daryl questions Merle's reason to go to Jake's, Merle tells him he kept something of Daryl's at the bar. After arriving at the bar, Merle instructs Daryl to stay by the car but Daryl goes and looks for his brother anyway.. It is revealed that Merle really went back to get revenge on the his gang that sold him out and took Daryl's crossbow. Merle attacks some of them in the bar, until the rest of the gang comes back and knocks Daryl out, taking all of his equipment and supplies. However, an undead gang member has Daryl's crossbow. Daryl takes the crossbow and continues to look for Merle, the gang, and his missing equipment. Afterwards, Daryl finds out that Merle had gone missing while the entire gang died and was eaten by zombies.
Daryl meets fellow survivor Anna and contacts her father, a sheriff, and plans on meeting at the evacuation point at Palmetto Estates. After arriving at Danvers research lab for the serum (a supposed cure), Daryl fights his way through the lab and finds a lady named Sheila Schneider who was a member of the Archer Creek Dam group. Sheila tells Daryl that the serum is just a fairy tale and that the research result has found there is no cure for the disease. The lab is locked down by the auto security system and Daryl tells Anna to flip the alarm switch, which actually ends up accidentally triggering the alarm. After escaping the lab, Daryl and Anna go to Sherwood to gather information about the evacuation. Daryl later says goodbye to Anna when she and her father meet up and then drive off.[6]
While scavenging the area, Daryl finds two elderly survivors, Terry Harrison and his wife, who is in a bad condition on the bed. Harrison is taking care of his wife, though he is concerned for his daughters, Amy and Andrea. He tells Daryl to find Aiden, who was in charge of signaling an evacuation helicopter. He also asks Daryl to get antibiotics from the pharmacy to ease his wife's suffering. Daryl finds Aiden's wife, Jane, who tells Daryl to look for her husband in the pharmacy. Daryl finds Aiden who has apparently twisted his ankle and his stuck on the roof of pharmacy. Aiden tells Daryl that, to signal the evac chopper, he must retrieve his bag in a garage, as the bag has flares that can be used to signal it. Daryl brings retrieves and brings it to Aiden, who starts the evacuation. Daryl then returns to the neighborhood where Tony, his wife, and Jane are located. When he gets there, he is forced to choose between them as both of their houses are under attack by walkers. The survivor that Daryl chooses to save then tells him that the last evacuation site is Atlanta at the Firesign Stadium.[6]
Daryl and his remaining survivors continue on the trip to the stadium but find it full of zombies. Daryl tries to reach various helicopters, but they take off before he can get on, until there is only one left. Daryl holds off the horde with an M2 Browning mounted on a Humvee that is driven by Merle, who returns. After defending the helicopter, Daryl attempts to get on but is held back by Merle who says that the pilot was bitten. The survivors, who have already boarded the helicopter, are left to their fate.

Development

In the game, Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker reprise their television roles as Daryl and Merle Dixon, respectively.[9][10]
During each of the first eight episodes of the TV series' third season, three code words per episode were shown during the commercial breaks which could be entered for a limited time at amcdead.com for the Dead Giveaway / The Survive And Drive Sweepstakes. Each week a winner won the opportunity to be featured in the game. Each weekly winner's headshot would be incorporated into a fictional character in the game and used in one of eight "death vignettes.

And don't rage about down votes in this forum, it's all personal opinion. If it's good enough, Frog and/or other staff will make it official regardless of votes.

Game Information
Release Date: November 12, 2002
Developers: Torus Games, Treyarch
Publishers: Activision
Platforms: Game Boy Advance, Xbox, Playstation 2, Gamecube
Genre: Beat 'em up
Players: 1

Synopsis
Based on Spielberg's futuristic thriller, Minority Report is the only game that lets you relive the movie experience, immersing you in a sci-fi action/adventure with weapons and devices straight out of the movie. Set in the near-future 2054, you are pre-crime officer John Anderton - head of an elite police squad able to predict and apprehend murderers before their crimes can be committed.

Plot
The game takes place in the year 2054, in Washington D.C. The player takes control of John Anderton, captain of the Precime Division. John Anderton's purpose is to stop and cease any murders from taking place before they occur, which Anderton is given information that is provided by 3 precognitive agents. Seeing that the precognitive agents see Anderton before committing a crime, Anderton becomes a target in his own organization. Anderton will be pursuing multiple suspects that will lead him through the suburbs, sewers, ghettos, and other various locations throughout D.C., whilst avoiding Precime officers, smugglers, guards, and AI robots that will try and stop him from completing his objective and protect whoever Anderton is pursuing.

Gameplay
Minority Report features a unique fighting system in which the player can perform a move set of combos to inflict on their targets. Players will be able to perform several forms of punches, uppercuts, dropkicks, grappling, and even throw and spin their enemies from across the room. The player will also be able to use a range of weapons, which one weapon that is used in the movie Minority Report. The Sick-Stick which is used in the movie is in the game but the player can't wield it in the game. Players will have to fight through 40+ levels to get tot eh end of the game. Each levels contains money packages that is used to purchase the player upgrades for their character, buy weapons and ammo, and unlock new combo sets to perform against their enemies. Enemies in Minority Report will range in variety wherever the player is playing on. Players will fight against Precrime officers that are identified by the colored markings on their uniforms: green means they wield Sick-Sticks which makes the player's character puke upon impact and immobilizes them. Red means they wield a weapon, their weapons will range from concussion rifles, riot guns, shotguns, wasp and grenade launchers. And blue means they are an expert when fighting in hand to hand combat. And on certain missions, players will be able to use jetpacks to get to certain areas in the game and as well find hidden secret areas too.

Graphics
The graphics in Minority Report aren't too shabby but are decent enough to keep the player compelled with the game itself. The game lacks the blood feature so there is no trace of blood anyway in the game, even in the cutscenes, there is no blood which most players will dislike for its type of genre the game features. The graphics lack when it comes to the character's faces and appearances. The faces on the enemies especially look like they just put 2 eyes, a mouth, and a nose without adding sort of texture or detail to actually see them clearly. As for the clothing, the clothing is remarkable but shows rarely any variety. The textures on the buildings and landmarks are just simply colored with lines going across to maybe add some texture or just to show the separate floors when viewing them from outside. On the upside, the effects are quite well done on the explosions and fires. The explosions show the detail of smoke and parts of debris from the ground. The fire upon buildings and vehicles as that fluency and looks clear.

Controls
The controls in Minority Report are quite simple to execute. When using a weapon of any type, the controls for firing is similar to other shooting games of its kind. The controls for fighting are all quite similar to other fighting combinations that can be bought. The combos are 3 button move sets so players shouldn't have a hard time figuring out how to punch or kick. Depending on the last button in the sequence, the player will have to either just press or hold the last button to perform the move of their desire. For a player that doesn't know the move set combination or forgets, they can easily just pause and select combos in the menu to see how to perform it. If the player seeks a better variety of the game, then they should try and perform multiple combos or else the game will become repetitive.

Ratings
Gameplay: 7.8/10
Graphics: 7.3/10
Controls: 8.2/10
Overall: 8.5/10

He will have to be cautious of how much fuel, ammo and food he has, and think very strategically of who and how many he chooses to take in to his group. When he travels, he can either choose to take the highway, and save fuel but break down a lot, or take the small roads, where he will be able to scavenge from small villages and chance of breaking down is low. First of all I would like to say that we don't have a little "crew", we don't think your review is up to the standards of being a game review. As I believe that you need to beef up most of your sections. I also doubt that Brigand is calling you a hater because Brigand is a nice guy and good at giving feedback, and I'm not saying this because he's my friend I'm saying this because he gave me advice on my reviews and what I should improve on. Also Brigand's game reviews aren't perfect but they are up to high detail and up to the standards. As Craigyy said before it is Criticism.

Synopsis
BattleBlock Theater[1] is a platform game developed by The Behemoth and published by Microsoft Studios for Xbox 360. It is the third title from The Behemoth following Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. The game was released on Xbox Live Arcade on April 3, 2013.

Gameplay
In Battleblock Theater the player is controlling a prisoner as they are forced to play games created by Hatty Hattington. There are several Modes in this game but the main one is Adventure Mode. Which can be played as solo or co-op. During co-operative play the players need to work together to over come obstacles, which includes throwing each other over gaps, pulling each other up on ledges, and as much is there is helping there is also a lot of sabotaging your partner too. In Adventure mode it consists of various amounts of worlds, which have lots of levels in them. In order to get to the next world the player is going need to collect gems, which can also be used for customization parts. Players also collect balls of yarn to bribe cats for new weapons, heads, and bodies. Collecting gems and yarn can result in a better grade on that level. If you collect all of the yarn and gems you will receive a A++ and be rewarded with more Gems. Arena Mode is another mode which consists of four players, and several match types:

Soul: In this game mode you steal an enemies soul, capture it and hold it longer for more points.
Muckle: Beat and kill the enemies to receive points for your team.
Challenge: Score the best given time on a specific level.
King of the Hill: Stand on crown blocks to receive points.
Color the World: Color more blocks than the other team
Grab the Gold: Grab gold and deposit it to score points for your team.
Ball Game: Get ball in the Basket
Horse: Ride enemy teams horses and stay on it longer to score more points.
Along with this there is an Time attack mode, and a level editor, where you can make your own levels and have other people play them.

Plot
The plot of this game is interesting and really fun to see what happens next. Almost all cut scenes are in puppet form which is not in your regular games. The game begins when the narrator is telling hundreds of stories about the S.S Friendship, as well as Hatty Hattington, who is known as "best friend to one and to all". After a huge storm hits the S.S. Friendship, the boat becomes shipwrecked, on a mysterious island that no one knows about. Upon waking after the wreck the Player seeks shelter in a theater. Soon the player discover technologically advanced, high evolved cats restraining Hatty, as he is being fit into a glowing top hat. The hat begins to change Hatty, and after that Hatty orders the cats to attack the players presence. The plot is fun and couldn't get better in my opinion at all. Love the part with cats being trained and trying to find you. Overall very interesting and very cliff hangery.

Graphics
Battleblock theaters graphics are really good for a 2D game. It is similar to Mario games where you are running in a straight line dodging, killing things and more. Except this game is not as penalized as mario is. This graphics run really smooth on this game and don't look terrible at all. There explosions, water, and walking through walls is really detailed for this game. They have funny little animations when standing still, and dying, like killing yourself will lead to your character popping and making a farting noise. The animations of moving blocks, enemies is fantastic and smoothly laid out. They have definitely improved since the little reveal trailer of this game made back in 2009 called Game 3. Overall graphics are good very little improvements need to be made here and there.

Controls
Ok the controls in this game are probably the simplest controls and easy to learn in like a minute. There are only three controls, Thats it! The game only consists of running, jumping, and punching/kicking. Only three buttons in this game that you need to press really thats it. It is very similar to Mario as i have said before, just in a different style. Overall controls are easy and simple, a five year old could probably learn them with a snap of your fingers.
