Assassin's Creed 4 is set in the Caribbean around the time of 1715. This is also known as the golden age of pirates. These pirates known for there lawless way of life, by taking what they want when the want, and for drinking a obscene amount of rum. There legacy still endures to modern time today.

After the death of Desmond Miles (main character up to AC3) Abstergo Industries finds the body, and takes many samples from both the supplies he had on him, and his brain. With this information, a company also headed by Abstergo, tries to use it to create some entertaining movies and games. You are hired by Abstergo Entertainment to dive into the mind of Edward Kenway, a rogue privateer and Grandfather of Connor.

As Edward you are there to unravel a conspiracy forming between Templar high officials and the Assassins. You don't know what is in it for you, but you are hoping for plunder, and riches that will last a life time.

There are three main cities on the map: Havana, Nassau, and Kingston. There are also many, many, other locations that you will be introduced to during the main story, as well as the locations you will find just drifting around on your boat.

The Jackdaw is your ship, once you gain it you never lose it. The Jackdaw can be upgraded, and should be upgraded as sea combat, and travel are a very big part of this game. Many of the missions will recommend you to upgrade your ship more if they feel that you can not hang.

There are many forts around the map, that can be picked up by a red icon. Forts range in difficulty going from some very easy, and others can be very difficult. The reward for taking down these forts is great though. It unlocks many new areas on your map, and takes out a area that would normally be restricted because it is run by pirates. Some also show you the location of legendary ship battles.

There are four legendary ships in AC4 each one in its own corner of the map. The legendary ships are very hard to destroy, but the reward is 20,000R for each one that you destroy.

HMS PRINCE

This is the easiest of the legendary ships to destroy. It is similar to a Man 'O War, but has a beefier defense, and is very fast. It will try to mortar you as much as possible so the suggested strategy by IGN is to Chain Gun and Ram the ship as it will keep you out of the mortars range as long as you are very close.

LA DAMA NEGRA

This ship is very similar to the HMS Price, although its mortars do not show up in any area. So it is suggested to stay near, and try to shoot at the back of the ship as that will do the most damage.

HMS FEARLESS AND ROYAL SOVEREIGN

This legendary battle is against two ships, each with less HP then the others, but they will try to catch you in between them, and blast you with cannons. Same with the others Ram when you can and use your broadsides as well.

A trick that you can use is that if you can take out one of the ships in this battle you can take the 10,000R floating in the water let the other ship kill you then restart the fight and keep repeating this as it will let you keep the money.

EL IMPOLUTO

This is the hardest ship, as it is very quick and does very devastating damage with its ram. You are going to want to use mortars, and ram when you can. The mortars will slow the ship down and give you a chance to reset.

If you go to the top of the Plateu in Cape Bonavista near the Mayan Stelae location you will encounter many wild pigs which never stop spawning and you can kill them unlimited times for money.
