A school teacher in New York has become so fed up of her students unpleasant smells that she sent a complaint letter to the parents.

The handwritten note from the pre-kindergarten teacher at the Buffalo school districts BUILD Academy read:

Several children in Pre-K ages 3-4 are coming to school (sometimes daily) with soiled, stained, or dirty clothes. Some give off unpleasant smells and some appear unclean and unkept.

It is a health and safety concern. It also makes it difficult for me to be close to them or even want to touch them. Enough said.

Furious parents have said the teacher, who has not been named, should exercise more compassion for those in the Buffalo community, where almost 30 per cent of the population live below the poverty line.

Kimberly Wells was shocked when she found the note in her granddaughters backpack.

The first thing she asked me is, Does my teacher think I stink? I told her, No, you dont, she said, speaking to local media company WKBW.

Shes teaching the kids how to segregate other kids. Youre showing how to outnumber another child. Thats not right. Thats not what were in school for.

She could have called the parent on the phone. She could have had a meeting at the school face-to-face, Mrs Wells said, adding that she did confront the teacher.

I did try to talk to the teacher about this and she didnt want to hear anything I had to say.

The teachers note, which was sent without the head teachers permission, also asks parents for signatures.

The letter was addressed in a board meeting; however the school has decided not to punish the teacher.

No it's not the teacher's fault. It's the parents for not taking care of their children. That stuck up broad is just pissed and wants something to bitch at. That teach had every right to send that note if it IS true.
Although I think she should have went about it through a different means of letting the parent know. It does seem strange to send a matter like this home with the child.

That's when you do what they did in the old days. Go out to a stream or something, and clean your clothes like that.

There's absolutely no reason for a child to be un-clean and un-kept. There are many ways to bath(Like Pool said). It's the parents who are lazy and them getting angry over this letter makes them immature. The teacher is trying to help the kids by telling the parents to do the right thing which is great! If the parents have time to get angry over a hand-written parent letter, than they have time to teach and give their children proper hygiene. I wouldn't be surprised if the parents start a petition against this teacher, which again shows their immaturity and lack of cooperation.

if the children don't have clean clothes they probably don't have food as well instead of writing letters to they're parents why not try and help them lot of school the teachers see kids who less privileged kids they will try to help in many ways instead making them less of a person they can't help what they ain't got why don't who ever the hell wrote the letters put up posters in school for other older kids and they're parents to donate they're old clothing that don't fit them anymore to the school to give it to the kids that can't afford it they are kids we are the adult teach them not making them feel bad just because they don't have clean clothes what a idiot
