Agreed. Earth is a mere atom in the universe compared to it's size. It would be foolish, as well as depressing to think we are alone.

If we are alone (IF) then we essentially are the gods of the universe, such as many "highly advanced" alien races portrayed in SCI-FI movies/videogames, which is somewhat not depressing. I don't think we are alone.

If we're alone we wouldn't be Gods of the Universe.
You can only be a God if something, in this case a lesser being, perceives you to be a God.
The Universe, as far as we know, doesn't recognize what happens inside it.
If we were the most advanced race in a Universe full of other species, then we would be 'gods.'
If we are alone in the Universe then we are everything and nothing because no one can perceive us as anything else.

We could perceive ourselves as "gods", whether the situation be us creating other species, us being alone, or us being the most advanced within our universe.

The requirement for grading something is that there has to be something either lower or higher than it.
If we called ourselves gods when there were no species lower than us, it would be the same as calling ourselves Humans.

Would calling ourselves "Creators" rather than gods if we are alone be a better title?

Well, the only reason we call ourselves Humans is to differentiate ourselves from animals on Earth.
If we knew that there were no other races out there on other planets, naming ourselves wouldn't really be needed.
We'd probably stick with just 'Human.'
It'd be like having a conversation with someone who isn't there and telling them your name.
I understand what you're saying though, if we ended up creating another species we could just call ourselves the creators.
Although, they would probably come up with that name for us.

Pretty cool when you put it that way.

Back on topic now, I don't think there are aliens in Area 51. The reason being is because its not a secret anymore, even though you can't enter the premises everyone knows of its existence. I think if our government were to have aliens in a military base it would be in one of their high-tech underground facilities.

I think there are things in Area 51 such as military projects that we have never seen, maybe something like an Iron Man suit, and there might be aliens we will never know
