I couldn't find another topic that handles networking so, I suppose this is the closest I can get. So my situation is that I have this arris modem/router that I can not change the mac address on. So if someone knows a methode that I can change it, please tell me. Because of my situation I had to find other ways to get a new IP. One of my questions are, what exactly is a lease of an IP. My leases are always a hour and people have been telling just unplug the router completely when your lease is done, and it should change. Is that true? If any one can tell me other ways to change an IP address, that will be great.
Thanks

I'm going to sum this up. A Mac address cannot be changed and your IP depends on whether it is dynamic or static.

Well it can be cloned, which is almost the same thing. Also my IP is dynamic.
