I am looking to build a PC as soon as I can, and would appreciate any help with a build?
I have a 600 GBP budget, but if necessary up to 700.
I would be using the PC for both gaming and maybe editing, as well as general schoolwork,
And I am starting from scratch so will also need a keyboard, mouse, monitor &operating system.
I would be playing a range of games on the pc, hopefully BF4, will all this be possible with the budget given?
Thanks

That should work, you can always rip windows off another PC, but if you want to go legit, buy it off ebay as you can get it cheap.
If you do decide to rip it off another pc, You can pickup a better CPU cooler(maybe a Silver Arrow or the lower end CM 212 EVO)

This is probably the best you can do under 700GBP!

Okay thanks for this, due to personal preference I would prefer to go with an intel processor, could I do this?
Or will the AMD perform better?

For the extra you'd spend in the CPU you'd lose on GPU power, so no it wouldn't be as good.

What would my budget need to be if I changed it for an i5 but to perform better?

Probably 775GBP.
I modified OCZ's build to an Intel build, and no this can't overclock.
