So just started playing online and it said I needed a character to play online even thought I already had a save (level 24) so it's gone is there anyway possible of me getting it back or should i just start again. I really am starting to get really annoyed with there really bad servers, in my opinion they just did to much and they couldn't handle it. Anyways I would really appreciate the help so please message me back soon.

As of now there are a few ways of getting it back.. just DO NOT CREATE A NEW CHARACTER! it will overwrite your Character and you will never see it again.
What you will want to do is Keep deleting the Title Update and starting the game up, keep trying and eventually you will get onto the server

I really don't think there's a way to get it back. I can't tell you how frustrated I am, I lost my character too.

ive been wating a couple hours and still havent got my character back, im starting to lose hope...

This hasn't worked for me, I really don't think we're getting our characters back.

Just lost mines too, I was only level 6 but still... Going to stay offline until R* sort their shit out.

I mean I don't think the connection to the server is the issue it's just really stupid I think I might give it a day and hope it comes back but really rockstar need to fix this they should of at least fixed this by a few days of release.

go to the dashboard, then Settings > System > Storage > All Devices > GTA V > The last title update, make sure its the latest one & not the one from last week!
