If you follow the steps in the tutorial, you will be doing the mission in 30 seconds or less. If you didn't have your car spawn, you'd have to go to the road, steal a car, and drive further than if you were to have your own car that would spawn right next to you.

This is the most efficient and successful way I've found so far.
