Tonight I discovered that building a PC is affordable and worth it. I have preordered a ps4, but i want to see what other options i have...since the steambox was announce I've been really excited to see other things, so I want to know what the best PC I could build is with $500.
I would like to know the cost and name of individual components (if possible).
thanks.

go with pc, and look for a good graphics card like an Nvidia and an I3 processor or higher i dont think that would cost to much but those parts will help

It really depends on how you want to run your games too... Do you want them to be at the best possible graphics or can you live with low profile graphics?
I built a mini computer inside an old xbox that will someday be an emulator for all the old snes/nes/n64 etc games. That cost roughly around the $500 mark (however I dont know how well it would run pc games) But it can run binding of issac without lagging. And BoI is a CPU intensive game.
