It happened to one of my old USB's but I didn't know how to fix it. Try formatting it

I had the same problem.... it would be cheaper if you just bought a simple flash drive that has 16gb's it cost me 16 bucks. Do not get the 16gb Xbox usbs they are about 30 bucks

You need to right click on it and then format it.

I have done that, but then I plug it back into xbox and it makes me configure it again, and when I do that I lose the space...

When you configure it to your xbox you loose the space because its being used as xbox memory

the other 7.** gb has beem converted to xbox memory, so it is only available to files acosiated with xbox, if you right click, format, restore device defaults, then hit "start" you should be fine, or go to your xbox and go to USB, press x and hit remove xbox 360 storage

if you are using it for both xbox files and normal files, find your usb on your xbox memory tav, hit x, go to customise, if it does not show up, go to remove xbox 360 storage, then hit customise, change it to about2-3 ggb depending on what you are trying to do like store profiles or sumin.

hope I helped!!
