Hey guys! A massive heads up for people who are out there currently modding GTA V as it will eventually get you banned, if you are signed up to SocialClub.
If you have signed up to [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and have your profile linked to your console, and you have a modded gamesave, I have some bad news for you. Eventually the save will be tracked down and you will be banned from the online servers (obviously I have no idea if this is true, but it's how Rockstar have always dealt with modders).
The way Rockstar are tracking down is because of the new implementation of Game Progress. The new Game Progress tracks your Overview, Missions, Checklist, Stats, Weapons, Minigames and Unlocked Achievements. One of thoughs looking out of place, such as 5% completion with $2,000,000,000 will instantly make Rockstar be like "What the f*$!?", and that'll get you banned from the online servers too.
You can see (for example), what you can see on your SocialClub profile:

The best way to stay "undercover" would obviously be to just mod it on an offline profile and just play it for messing around on. I wouldn't advise modding a game save on your online profile.

No proof to this theory...yet. I'm looking forward to the one hit wonders who made posts saying "Mod my gamesave?" and then after October 1st we'll see "HELP I'M BANNED!". Solid warning and you clearly spent some time making this look good, giving this a thanks!

I agree, there is no proof, however it seems like this is what they will start doing as they can now track your progress. Thanks for the thanks!

hmmm so your telling me that if i was to mod my single player save (which i already have) that rockstar will track it (which the stats are already on my social club account) and ill be banned from an online feature that has absolutely nothing to do with the single player? ill believe it when i see it because i did the same thing with Red Dead Redemption and i was never banned nor suspended.

I believe they will be doing the same banning technique as what they introduced from Max Payne 3, if you mod ANY of the game, you're banned across the board from all servers. Many people have already been banned from modding GTA.

i would agree with you, with the whole 5% done over 2m money, but Rockstar is going to be selling Money, on the main TTG page it shows how much they are selling it for

Also as of now there banning people off of XBL not putting them into the cheaters pool, One of my friends got banned for modding his save he said & i've seen a few people post that they have been banned for modding there save also

I got to 70% legit then modded it to 100% so I'm sure it will be fine
