Hey guys

needs some help... I am looking at the 7970 cards but would like to know what one is the best.

I was originally looking at XFX Radeon HD 7970 DD Black edition but I want to make sure I am getting the best one for around 300 mark.

Thanks

Adam

I personally adore Sapphires design cards, they look beautiful and perform very well.

3GB XFX HD 7970 Black edition
or
3GB Sapphire HD 7970 Vapor-X GHZ Edition

The Sapphire has higher clock speeds, so that one. But the difference won't be massive.

This is cheaper if you're getting a non-GHz 7970: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If you're going to spend around 300 GBP (remember Scan's shipping cost), I'd suggest the 770. Unfortunately, I can't see anything about the Never Settle bundle with the card I linked.

Ok now looking at the 770 I have decided for the extra 60 I will get this 770 instead of 7970...

Just want to make sure this would work with this set up though...

Go with the 2GB variant unless you'll be using two cards or a resolution of 2560*1440 or greater.

The Thermalright Silver Arrow is much cheaper than the H100(i) but performs as well.

750w is too much and you can do better than the Corsair CX series.

You don't have to pay that much to get a good 990FX board.
