Ok so I'm in a cage in the sky. You didn't specify if the cage is suspended by a cable or if it's just free falling. My answer...wait until the altitude of paper rises and makes a staircase down to the ground. Once you're on the ground slowly squeeze your way out between the bars. I think I got it...

Saw the table put the peices into the bars and pull apart to open the cage, then rock the cage to fill with paper to have it lower down and jump softly
