I have a FX6300 and i have to say it's a great CPU. For the price you get 6 cores with 3.5GHz clock speed. Really great CPU for such little money. If you're upgrading from an i3 i'd get a 8320 though.

The 8320 is an 8 core CPU with a 3.5GHz clock speed also. It has a TDP of 125w though, so make sure your PSU is up to the job.

AMD CPUs usually are good overclockers. Getting a 8320 with a M5A97 EVO R2.0 motherboard would be a great investment.

Everything I have is spectacular except my cpu, and i have a spare water cooler so i can overclock well

The 8320 would be a very good upgrade for you then. It will provide masses of performance. It isn't too expensive either.

Remember, when you change your motherboard you will need to get a new OS.

You can't overclock an i3 unless it's first-generation and having a cooler that costs more than the CPU is a bit ridiculous.

Unless you're talking about the new CPU you plan on getting.

EDIT: If you want new hardware, what's your budget?

I, the same as M249 have a FX 6300. I have gotten to clock speeds of over 4.5GHz on a single fan Hyper 212 EVO.

It is a very good overclocking chip. But overclocking takes time and patience, 2 things in which i don't have.

I also know Buxtyy had his 8120 at avery stable 4.4GHz.

AMD is the way forward for budget overclocking. As for Haswell, it overclocks well, but cooks itself at the same time. It gets very hot.

The 6300 or 8320 is the way to go for me...

As i said in my last post, the M5A97 EVO R2.0 would be good paired up with the 8320.
