I hate how people talk trash about soccer/football, i mean come on, if you have a passion for a sport, no matter what, then you shouldnt be badgered for it. I see no problem with someone enjoying playing football as much as the next guy likes dog sledding, if you want to be a sore c*nt about a sport that you really know nothing about then you shouldnt be here, you should be learning about that sport and seeing why people enjoy it as much as they do. I love soccer/football, i play and watch it, and love it in general. If someone has a problem with that then they probably have some problems with themself too, because there isn't a p*ssy or gay sport (except maybe something literally gay, idfk) and it just makes me angry that people judge like that.

NBC Sports actually has every single premier league game available. I don't get NBC Sports so I have to watch a stream anyways.

>Soccer is boring

You'd be surprised how similar Football and Soccer actually are.

2011-2012 regular season games only:

EPL

>1066 goals
>380 matches
>2.81 goals per match

NFL

>1259 TDs
>256 games
>4.9 TDs per game

Now factor in real time per game viewing length:

>NFL: 3 hours, 7 minutes = 187 minutes
>EPL: 1 hr, 51 minutes = 111 minutes

So, scoring in real time:

>NFL: 187/4.9 = 38.16. A touchdown every 38 minutes of real time.
>EPL: 111/2.81 = 39.50. A goal every 39 minutes of real time.

Basically the same rate. This leaves out field goals, but screw those anyway. Go ahead and throw out the "not enough scoring" argument against soccer. Only difference is length of the game and giving 1 for a goal instead of 6 for a touchdown.

Isn't a running back just a soccer player that carries that ball?

--- Guys, I like both sports, but saying soccer is for fgts or it's not as athletic as football is insane.

I used to be just like you guys. I was on the football team in middle school, I'd always make fun of the soccer players. Then something just snapped and I sat around and I watched a Manchester City game a few years ago and I've been supporting them ever since. I get up at 7am in the morning on weekends just to see them play. I personally love soccer now and I plan on trying out for my high schools team in the Spring. Not every sport is for everyone but Jesus Christ, everyone has a preference, chill out.

Go Giants, Red Bulls and Manchester City!

I'd put some crazy Red Bulls video here, but they haven't won anything big.
So here, have some MLS Highlights.

I respect you so much, if more people read this post then maybe they would lose their horrible stereotypes about soccer/football and see it for the beautiful game it is.
Also, you can spam my pm's or downvote this comment, but just know that you are bashing a sport bigger than almost anything else, so you cant really win.

I honestly think watching soccer is boring. There is no action. A bunch of girls that flop when they get touched cry to the ref about every call and final scores like 1-0 and 2-1 are so boring to watch! I prefer to watch hockey!

I personally don't find soccer/football fun. Boring is more what I would categorize it as. But I'm not going to sit here and bash it like most people. I understand the physical demands the sport requires and respect it.

It's not just running around a field kicking a ball. Well, it kind of is, but there are certain skills a player needs to succeed. Just because you dislike the sport doesn't mean you have to demoralize it. Most likely you hate it because you aren't good at it.

Socccor is a boring sport from my POV.

Running back and forth trying to hit a ball into a net.

What do you mean by "baby sport"?

I mean by the flops, it's almost as bad as in the NBA.

Just like American football is the 'baby' version of rugby? (;
Football (soccer) is the biggest sport in the world.

I can agree with that, but you automatically assume I like Football.

Only because that's what American's generalize as a 'hard' sport. What would you call a hard sport?

American Football is a hard sport so is Hockey. That's why more people watch that then Rugby. The only reason American Football has pads and such is to protect their players.

Cause they are p*ssies!! F*ck American Football the only good thing about it is its only on for 4 months... Soccer is all year round and it is played in countries in 100 degree weather. you don't see the American football in the summer do you?

That's because they train all summer you idiot. They have this thing call the Pre-Season. All soccer is, is people running back in forth kicking a ball. That's being a *****.

And American Football is just tackling and adverts.

You need no skill, just to be big and strong.

In Football you see people who actually have talent.

Are you kidding? ALL YOU DO IS KICK A BALL. Babies do that. You don't see a team of babies vs. babies in a park playing American Football do you, no I didn't think so.

Yeah, kicking a ball, yet I bet that you couldn't kick a ball 40 yards directly to someone and play it over the top of 3 players so it lands exactly at their feet.

And where is the babies coming from? Anyone can play football but it doesn't mean the can do skills, precise passing/shooting, it's not just "kicking the ball"...

You don't have to be good to play soccer. All you need is to have legs.

I'm sorry but that's one of the most ignorant comments I've seen on this topic. I'd love to see you dribble through 4 or 5 defenders with the ball at your feet, pick a 50-60 yard pass accurately, with your feet and have the composure to hit it into a relatively small goal.

Football (soccer) is about the art of control, skill and movement. I think you need to do some research on the sport and you'll realize you're wrong about it.
Quick fact for you: Over 3.2 billion people tuned in to watch the World Cup Final in 2010. If football was a talentless sport then why did almost half the world watch it?

Pretty much every sport requires people 'running back and forth' and trying to score a point.

Basketball - They run from from one side of the court to the other.
American Football - They run from one side of the pitch to the other.
Baseball - You run to each base and then back again.
Hockey - You skate from one side to the other.
Soccer - They run from one side of the pitch to the other.
