Americans like excitement... you do not get that from soccer.. which is why people do not like soccer.

FACT - American Footballers are just fat or fast people who can catch, the only person who needs ANY skill is the QB.

FACT - Soccer players are foot fairies who just run around and kick a ball, the only person who needs any skill is the goalie and really that's just guessing where the ball is going to go.

Okay, so only the QB needs skill? So, why doesn't everyone want to be a QB in the NFL? I think Running Back requires skill. You know? Adrian Peterson? Chris Johnson? Arian Foster? All top notch running backs in the league. Defensive players? Yeah, they have to have a lot of conditioning and I mean A LOT. I'm sorry that FOOTBALL is more manly than your soccer. I mean, Europe must like it, since they always bring huge crowds to the NFL game when it's over there.

Sounders FC has an average attendence of about 45000 all year round so Americans must like Football by that knowledge?

Just because 1 game a year gets a lot of people to watch it doesn't mean we all like it.

Well I play football (American ) and personally love soccer as well. After that note I would like to say that BOTH sports require skill.

You can't tell me that any soccer player could catch a pass while being leveled by a defender or thread a ball through three sets of hands for a touchdown or block a 300 pound defensive end who is faster than most defenders in soccer.

On the other side I don't think any football player could dribble past defenders or place the ball perfectly past the goalie's hands for a goal or place a through ball past three defenders to allow a teammate to score.

I think this argument is stupid and pointless and most people ( definitely not all ) who have posted in this are biased and belligerent soccer or football players who hate the other sport.

I catch plenty of games on Fox Soccer and my local sports station plays it fairly often.
