Ok, so I've been reading online all over the place and I've gathered a butt load of banning questions about RGH's.

1. If my RGH gets banned will it ban my retail as well? I know that when a JTAG or RGH gets banned you can just replace the KV and voila the modded console is unbanned (That's what I've heard). But I plan on having a retail that I play normally on and use my main account on and stuff, and an RGH where I make temp accounts and host online lobbies with XBLS and do recoveries for my friends, then when it gets banned use a KV and restart the process. So can I have one retail that I play normally on that doesn't get banned, and then have an RGH where I do all the modding and use KV's when I get banned on it?

2. How do KV's work? What things are required for a KV to work or be used?

3. If I have my retail on hardwired straight to the modem, and the RGH on wifi through a connected router, will they have different IP addresses? (My internet connections work like this... I have a modem connected to the wall that provides hardwired connection options, and its own wifi built in. One of the hardwired spots on the modem is used to plug into my Netgear router which we use as the house wifi instead of the built in version. I would have my retail directly connected into the modem using an ethernet cable and the RGH on the Netgear router's wifi)

4. Is IP banning real?

5. If my retail and RGH DO have different IP's and the RGH's IP gets banned (If IP bans do exist) can I change it's IP to make it un IP banned?

6. How hard is it to get IP banned (If it exists)

7. Will I be able to have an unbanned retail for normal purposes and an RGH that will get banned that I keep getting back online with KV's that I could mod on in the same house without getting banned on my retail?

8. Do recoveries get your RGH banned easily?

9. I have a normal slim, so are there any advantages to getting a dual NAND? Or will having both a retail and an RGH single NAND be the same thing?

10. What things are required to go online with an RGH and XBLS?

11. What is the difference between dual and triple NAND?

12. What is a good site to buy an RGH from?

If you need any extra details about my questions just ask for clarification below.

Thanks!

If you have that many questions about them then the best thing for you to do is wait awhile before even considering buying one. You can go ahead and buy one but do A TON of research before using it/using it online. I dont use mine online just because im not putting the risk of getting my retailed banned and yes retails can get banned by using a jtag on the same the ip.

Oh god giant post coming.

1. I've heard it happening yeah, people recommend changing or spoofing your MAC address or something to get around it but it can happen.

2. a KV is just a file Microsoft blocks during the verification process for LIVE or something. All of them come from actual consoles, they aren't just made up. To use a KV it has to be the same type as what your console accepts, Xenons for sure use type 1 and 2, Zephyr I have no clue and everything else is only type 2.

3. No clue on that one. You can test it though, plug your PC directly into the modem and go here and take note of the IP: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] now plug it into the router and do the same. If they match then the IP's are the same. If different, they're different.

4. Highly doubt that, way too easy to bypass and a waste of their time.

5. Changing IP's is usually as easy as unplugging your modem for 30 seconds or so and plugging it back in so yeah.

6. Same a 4-5.

7. Basically same question as 1.

8. There's no set statistic or anything you can use, it's just if you get banned then you get banned.

9. Having two consoles means you can do recoveries. Dual NAND systems CAN NOT do recoveries and you'd also NEED to buy a new KV if you ever wanted to go online because the KV is shared between both NANDs. If you already have a retail I would get a single NAND.

10. No experience with this.

11. The number of NAND banks it has... usually the third is reserved for a dev NAND which is almost no help to anyone who can't program and such.

12. Any of the stickies in this section are trusted: Forums/f=187/xbox-360-marketplace.html

I've answered your question below.

  • A: Microsoft / Xbox, can still track you down if they wanted to, if they really want to protect other members, or you've been doing a'lot of mods online in public matches. To stay protected I would just change your I.P before going on your Retail Xbox. So reset your I.P by google (sorry lol, but that's your best option) I remember some code for it in CMD on Windows.

Type in Command Prompt and right-click run as Admin, and type this in or copy and paste.

    ipconfig /all
    pause
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

Continuing on, if you go online with Xbox LIVE Stealth, or EXBLS, it will do a hard reset on your mac address to keep you safer from being banned from LIVE, it only does it ONCE to keep in note of that.

  • Q: 2. How do KV's work? What things are required for a KV to work or be used?

  • A: I would refer to this for your answer.

    What Is A KeyVault?
    (KV)

Due to a lot of people asking me what they are lately,I have decided to add this new section to explain it.

A KeyVault (KV) is basically a file that holds information about your Xbox and is what Microsoft uses to identify your Xbox when you attempt to connect to Xbox Live.

When Microsoft ban your Xbox they basically use the details of the KV and make it so a console with that KV in it is not allowed to connect to Xbox Live.

The method used in the past to ban your console was extracting a KV from an unbanned console and replacing the current KV in your banned console with the new one.

This made Microsoft think that it is a completely new Xbox and thus,it is not banned.

You can ONLY replace a KV in a JTAG and it cannot be done on a retail Xbox 360.

The KV of a console is stored on the console's NAND chip.

Please Note: You can ONLY extract a KV from a console which can run unsigned code. This would be a JTAG.

The purchase and sale of KV's used to be a big business for modders but now is practically dead due to Microsoft's new server checks for unsigned code.

A JTAG runs unsigned code and Microsoft's new checks instantly ban anyone trying to connect to Xbox Live with a console which is using unsigned code.

So it is no longer practical to unban your console as you cannot to connect to Xbox Live for even half a minute.

  • A: If your talking about an actual I.P, like 10.0.0.1, no it will not, you can change the I.P, or do like I said above, but your local I.P's will be different on your local network.

  • Q: 4. Is IP banning real?

  • A: Yes rarely I've been modding online for a month now, and my I.P has not been banned from Xbox.

  • Q:5 . If my retail and RGH DO have different IP's and the RGH's IP gets banned (If IP bans do exist) can I change it's IP to make it un IP banned?

  • A: You would get a console ban they can still track you down, I can rarely see an I.P ban for you though ;).

  • Q: 6. How hard is it to get IP banned (If it exists)

  • A: Rarely, I would say. I've never been I.P banned lol.

  • Q: 7. Will I be able to have an unbanned retail for normal purposes and an RGH that will get banned that I keep getting back online with KV's that I could mod on in the same house without getting banned on my retail?

  • A: No.

  • Q: 8. Do recoveries get your RGH banned easily?

  • A: Not really if your doing a recovery service must ask TTG Staff for permission to do this, but for CoD: Black ops 2 you could get banned because of DMCA stuff for bo2, its utterly stupid so I wouldn't mess with that for awhile until CoD: Ghosts. Mw2,Mw3,Bo1,Cod4,WaW, is all safe, but you still get a risk of getting banned. If you have a ban bypass it will stop automatic bans, but not manual bans from Xbox Support (XBLPET) Can still ban you if they look into your profile.

  • Q: 9. I have a normal slim, so are there any advantages to getting a dual NAND? Or will having both a retail and an RGH single NAND be the same thing?

  • A: You can get it RGH'd for 16203 not for the new dash that just came out I believe no you can't for 16517.

  • Q: 10. What things are required to go online with an RGH and XBLS?

  • A: Online server (XBLS, EXBLS, Titan), + KV, + Good connection.

  • Q: 11. What is the difference between dual and triple NAND?

  • A: I could be wrong, but I believe you switch with nands with demon that has a switch and you can switch from Retail / RGH / Devkit.

  • Q: 12. What is a good site to buy an RGH from? Smile

  • A: I would buy from the top people here Forums/f=187/xbox-360-marketplace.html and buy from the stickied people on green.
