Why are there no AM3+ ITX motherboards? Is it just that way, or is there some legal clause or contract or something?

If just one manufacturer made a motherboard like this, they would get a huge chunk of the market, so it's bad business not to make one.

I'm not sure why they don't make any but it might have something to do with the way AMD use more Watts than Intel.

I have no idea though...

According to ASUS its down to "customer demand". Apparently we don't really want it that much.

Well even if they couldn't fit the VRM for an overclocking 990FX/X chipset, they could make a 970 or lower end chipset board surely?

They'd likely just do what they do on the ASUS ROG line, use a daughter board for the VRM.

They would instantly have a monopoly on the ITX mid-range market (in between the i5 and FM2 socket chips).

8320 or 8350.

But if they are to pricey, 6300 will be best.
