Just want to know the ins an outs of what to do an not to do, any good programs?
Should I invest my time in steam?
What should I record with?
What should I edit with?
Good Games to play?
Where should I get my games if im not using steam?

Just want to know the ins an outs of what to do an not to do, any good programs? Download an antivirus program to stay safe. Also download speccy and monitor your temps if you want.
Should I invest my time in steam? Yes. Steam is great for buying games and playing with friends. They have some really good deals on at times as well.
What should I record with?
What should I edit with? Use Fraps. It's a very good screen capturing program and works very well.
Good Games to play? Just depends on what you like really. Games like GTA and Battlefield are great on the PC, but then you have games like Gmod and TF2 which are also fantastic games.
Where should I get my games if im not using steam? The only other place is eBay or Amazon. Buy them on a disc. It'd be a lot easier and efficient to use Steam however. Most websites that do amazing deals give product keys for Steam and Origin (EA's version of steam kinda)

hey, Check out the humble Bundle Put down about 5 bucks and u get about 8 Games all on Orgin get this Great for a person starting PC gaming only going on for 3 more days its for chairty
