I'm just going to list some of my reasons to get a PS4. Some might find this helpful others might not.
1. Price
It is $100 cheaper. PS plus is $50 retail price while the Xbox Live is $60 retail price. The PS plus also come with an extra 90 days if you buy the year which is $50. PS plus is a good deal because you get very good games that are not old for free. Also things like party chat and netflix is free.
2. It is 40% more powerful.
The RAM and GPU is more powerful. The GPU on the PS4 is 1.84 TFLOPS while the Xbox One is 1.23 TFLOPS. The Xbox 360 is 0.23 TFLOPS. You can see there is a big difference. The RAM on the PS4 also has more bandwidth. Which is 5500 mhz while the Xbox One is 2133 mhz. There are other things but I won't list them.
3. Gamer focused
The PS4 is focused on the gamer. Gamer first everything else second. The Xbox One is more of an all in one entertainment system. This is why it is called the ONE.

I really don't care about the hardware because we won't notice a difference in the graphics. Maybe the speed, but the PS3 was faster than the Xbox 360 and that didn't bother me.
Also, the price doesn't bother me, I have the money. And to be honest I think 430 is worth it since I will get a free copy of FIFA 14 which is worth 45. This knocks the price of the Xbox One down to 385. Furthermore, the PS4 is worth 350. So technically for the UK, the Xbox One is only 35 more than the PS4, which is worth it considering we get an expensive Kinect with the console.
Just my opinion.

That's 90 pounds worth of games for free. The console comes to 430 Pounds. Minus the 90 pounds worth of games and it comes to 340. That's right next to the price of the PS4. And your getting a better console. PLUS we get a Kinect worth 100 or so pounds.

And the OP is totally wrong about the hardware, there's more aspects involved than that. That would be like saying 5 is better than 1 simply because it's higher.
Gamer focused? Bullsh*t. Just because we get more features than you'll ever get doesn't give you the right to hate on it. Hell why not get a free TV built in?
Please, come back when you get more logic.

If you get a Xbox One you get legend cards which will not be available on PS4. (FIFA14)

Oh and by the way, for the record, I get my gold for $12 a year. That's because of resellers, something Sony won't have (you can only buy your Sony subscription from Sony whereas you can buy Microsoft subscription from anybody.

Honestly the better console in the end will always be the Xbox one.
